While some of the artwork from this period may be beautiful, the theology behind them is terrible. Just because they painted Jesus as a bearded lady doesn’t make it true.

Let me get this straight, you believe (based on your interpretation of some old paintings) that either:
A. Jesus Christ was a homosexual.
B. St. John the Apostle was a homosexual.
or
C. St. John was a woman.

I have read where a young person in study (apprentice, etc.) was often drawn with very young/ female attributes to show their lower status.
In that one painting though, I never realized that five of the disciples were midgets! (Or little people as they would be called now).
