On the Eastern Front... Hoeppner’s Panzer Group 4 attacks near Vyazma from the south. Hoth’s forces in the north are still battling the Soviet line between Vyazma and Rzhev. On the right wing of the attack, General Guderian’s forces are approaching Orel and Bryansk. Large numbers of Soviet troops are in danger of encirclement.

Heydrich isn’t a “Deputy Gestapo Chief”. He was Chief of the RSHA,which was comprised of the Sicherpolizei [Gestapo and Criminal Police], and the SS SD, of which he was also Chief.
The Chief of the Gestapo was SS Lieutenant General Heinrich Mueller.Heydrich was his boss.

October 4, 1941"Fifteen hundred Jews from Kovno, Lithuania, are transported to the Ninth Fort and murdered.
In Kovno proper, Nazis lock the Jewish hospital and set it ablaze, incinerating all inside."
"Christian Wirth was a central figure in the Nazi extermination programs.
Wirth joined the NSDAP in 1931 and worked for the Stuttgart division of the Gestapo (the Secret Police).
As a member of the T-4 euthanasia program, Wirth experimented with gassing those classified as unfit for human life.
He organized the first euthanasia installations outside of Germany and supervised the killing installations at the Chelmno, Belzec, Sobibór, and Treblinka death camps.
He was assassinated by Yugoslav partisans in 1944."

- "On 4 October I reported to Stalin about the situation in the Western Front and about the enemy penetration of the Reserve Front... and also about the threat of a large enemy grouping reaching our forces' rear area...Stalin listened to me, however, made no decision. Communications were disrupted and further conversation ceased." - Lieutenant-General Konev
