The GOP's New "Two-Man" Race?
The Huffington Zot ^ | 10/6/11 | STEWART J. LAWRENCE

Posted on 10/07/2011 10:11:55 PM PDT by jageorge72

"In fact, Gingrich's growing support among moderates, as well as some conservatives, is so large that he finishes second to Cain in all four states, a surge that's almost as impressive as Cain's."

"A "two-man" race? That's how many pundits described the Republican contest just a couple of weeks ago. But with Cain and Gingrich the only two GOP candidates rapidly increasing their voter support, it's no longer Romney and Perry who can claim that mantle."

Perry was a big let-down. Romney is an unlikable, plastic fraud. Bachmann is toast, Paul is semi-nuts,and fading, Santorum is good but never caught on, & Hunstman is an unlikable version of John McCain.

Newt Gingrich, Herman Cain, & Mitt Romney will probably now be the top three. Cain is very likable, but look for Newt's vast experience edge to propel him over Herman Cain in time. IF this were to come down to Newt vs. Romney.... who would you choose?

What’s the difference between Gingrich and Romney?

About 60 IQ points vs. $400 million.

Cheers!

Your claim that Paul is “fading” is wishful thinking on your part. He is a steady 11 to 13 in the polls.

Well, apparently 60 IQ points and $400 million doesn’t buy a true Conservative.

Best Regards

Romney is a non-starter. He's not a conservative. Period.

I'd vote for any of the other candidates. In the case of Cain or Santorum, I'd do so happily. I think they're both outstanding.

Newt is a DC insider trying to paint himself as an outsider. He has more baggage than an airport as well. Cain is more conservative and has a long record of success in the private sector. He has articulated a plan and a vision. No hope and change mantra for Mr. Cain. Yes he has a downside but he hasn’t passed a statist health care bill like Gov. Romney and Cain doesn’t appear to be a RINO either, I think Newt is an establishment republican. Santorum lost an election to a big time liberal in Penn and that millstone is around his neck. Ron Paul has held consistent positions but will not catch on as well. We will not get a perfect candidate, if I recall Reagan didn’t catch on in 1980 until New Hampshire. Now Cain will make mistakes but at least he admits them and when he doesn’t know something he admits it then goes and researches it to find out. He is a very smart man as well, I like to see him dispatch racists like Larry O’Donnell with more bite but that is just my opinion.
