Posted on 10/11/2011 10:03:24 PM PDT by jonatron
Boston police arrested 141 people during Occupy Boston demonstrations on Tuesday. The early morning arrests (1:30 am) were for trespassing and unlawful assembly. After almost 15 hours in custody, all of the peaceful demonstrators detained by the Boston Police Department had finally been released as of 6 pm on October 11. Occupy Boston has many eye-witness accounts and videos of police misconduct during the arrests (see above).
Perhaps the most disturbing, and characteristic, clip is of a member of Veterans for Peace being thrown to the ground multiple times without provocation. Street medics and clearly marked legal observers who were also detained despite explanation that they were neutral observers, and in sharp contrast to how non-violent arrests ordinarily take place.
As the Boston Globe said:
Urszula Masny-Latos (executive director of the National Lawyers Guilds Northeast regional office) said no protesters fought with police. She said police could have employed a technique routinely used at other protestspolice approach a protester, tell them they are violating the law, and the protester then submits to being taken into custodyand still achieved their goal of clearing the area.
They really attacked, Masny-Latos said of police. They used force that was completely unnecessary. It was just brutal. I have no idea why they arrested us with such force (Boston.com).
While police contend that their actions were, at least in part, due to an anarchist contingent that had taken control of the group, this was not the case. While police stood across the street from Occupy Bostons General Assembly, the General Assmebly(Sic) voted almost unanimously (80%) to peacefully protest Occupy Bostons removal from the area that BPD insisted the protestors(Sic) vacate by 12:00 am Tuesday.
Occupiers have been in constant contact with the Rose Kennedy Greenway Conservancy, a non-profit that manages the publicly park owned by MassDOT, and, prior to their arrests, they had received verbal consent to stay in the park. Further, Occupy Boston has plans to launch a Kickstarter campaign to raise money for restoring damaged areas of the park. Last week, members also unanimously agreed to return to Dewey Squareand any other areas that they occupyto repair any damaged grass.
As the Huffington Post wrote:
The Greenway website confirms that it did have an agreement with the protestors(Sic). Occupy Boston organizers have been cooperative with the Conservancy and the Boston Police Department to date, and have agreed to avoid the planting beds and adhere to common sense rules. Calls to the Greenway seeking comment were not returned (The Huffington Post).
Ya know, liberal popo are meaner than conservative popo.
Everyone (The real 99%), knows the Boston Police are very fair, friendly and tolerant, not in the least bit brutal- even with communist, terrorist-supporting fools.
When I was a kid, Halloween was only one night of the year. Now, it’s the whole month of October and November and December and... (If the ‘RAT politicians get their way and the useful idiots can take the cold).
Entertaining article, even though parts of it read as if it were translated from Chinese into French, and then dragged kicking and screaming into English, eg: a non-profit that manages the publicly park owned by MassDOT,
Gee... The police didn’t use “a tactic” that was used at “other protests.” Gosh darn it. The police should apparently ALWAYS telegraph their actions lest a complete idiot “protester” not know what is happening. Whatta buncha losers.
Want to enjoy a little Jewish humor? The so-called Veterans for Peace member (neomarxist group) on the ground is wearing a Palestinian kaffiyah scarf, the symbol of the murder Yasser Arafat and his killing minions.
Above it is a 6-pointed star on the police/sheriff’s car. A Jewish star, the Mogen David, is also a 6-pointed star.
Scissor, paper, rock becomes Jewish Star over Palestinian kaffiyah and marxist rabble. I love it when the good guys win.
Notice the involvement of the marxist National Lawyers Guild, an organization of communist lawyers and liberal supporters, that was originally formed by the Communist Party USA to protect its thuggish members.
Old reds never die; they just smell that way.
Apparently so do the newer ones.
How many Tea Partiers did you see arrested in Boston lately? Super liberal-state arresting lazy hippies. I’m sure there was a good reason for doing so. These libs can argue against the eeevil pooolice all they want, but the facts are the facts.
We organize peacfully (and are clean), they are not peacefull, are looking to instigate problems, and are filthy.
The "protesters" are also ripping themselves to shreds. My favorite: I have to say that I [sic] seems our movement is starting to make enemies with the police. BWAHAHAHAH
#1: When arrested, make a face like you are being hurt
#2: When touched, fall down as if thrown down
#3; When walking to paddy wagon, limp heavily
#4; Always play you act for the cameras
Think they all need a dose of Whup Ass.
I love the guy at :10, in the white shirt. Touch him and he falls.
And I forgot, always have the crying bimbo at the end.

April 9, 2004
Urszula Masny-Latos is an adviser to the Black Tea Society
“This November if you want to vote for a rich white male, pro-war, pro-cop, pro-god, pro-death penalty, pro-Israeli Occupation of Palestine, pro-US Occupation of Iraq, pro-national ID card, pro-patriot act, pro-NAFTA, anti-Gay Marriage, pro-video surveillance, pro-prison industrial complex, pro-no child left behind, anti-universal health care candidate, then this is the election for you!”
The Bl(A)ck Tea Society was an ad hoc, nonviolent anti-authoritarian coalition whose purpose was to protest the 2004 Democratic National Convention in Boston. The group believed that the United States was a two-party duopoly that offers no real choice between Republicans and Democrats.
Anarchist Black Tea Society
Yours in anarchy,
Black Tea Society
It’s a poignant scene, especially for an anarchists’ festival.
The Really Really Democratic Bazaar was organized by The Bl(A)ck Tea Society, a coalition of activists protesting the DNC. Its purpose is to offer a space where people can demonstrate their opposition to the “corporate elite” that have taken over the city. The BTS refers to itself as “anti-authoritarian” and is made-up of people from various political backgrounds, including progressives, libertarians, Marxists and anarchists.
Better hope they don’t pick up the soap, or else someone is going occupy their back country.
In some jurisdictions the police don’t bother to arrest vagrants who’ve broken the law. Instead they transport them over the county or state line and throw them from the vehicle at about 60 m.p.h. Because of the large numbers in Boston perhaps a freight train could be used.
