The first venue for Atlas Shrugged in Canada has just been confirmed: Atlas will be showing at the AMC at Younge and Dundas in Toronto for October 28th. Showtimes have not yet been announced but, of course we'll make sure to post links for advanced ticket purchasing as soon as they become available.
If you're in Canada and you're hoping Atlas visits your city, be sure to head on over to the Official Atlas Shrugged Movie web site and "Demand Atlas!"
And yes I think the publicist mis-spelled Yonge.

It was held back because of the Cannes Film Festival. apparently, to be eligible for Cannes, it could not have been shown outside of the country in which it was produced until after it was shown at Cannes.
Thanks! Wondered why.
What I find amazing is that Atlas Shrugged has not found its way to usenet yet, when even the cruddiest flicks get posted as soon as they’re out (or even before). Check binsearch.info for example. No DVD rips, no cams, no telesyncs - nothing! First time ever I’ve seen the usenet crowd ignore(?) a current film.
LOL. Yonge St.
That’s been a problem for a long time.
In 1948, my Dad had a job interview on “Young” street. He was late because he got lost on Yon-ge street. ;-)
Sorry to bump this thread, a little late. Here in Toronto, there was a telephone pole campaign to advertise the film, resulting in “Who is John Galt?” posters everywhere. Of course, Toronto, being the lefty filth-hole that it is, is full of more than enough people to rip all of the signs down in very little time.
There is no advertising, not even a mention of the film in the news.
They really, really don’t want Canadians to know about this and get any wrong ideas. Why they’re worried is beyond me given the average urban Canadian is so brainwashed as to be completely blind.
