Despite the warnings, I never used to worry too much that my lifestyle might one day show on my face. After all, there was always make-up, moisturiser, even a touch of Botox as the years advanced. Surely my guilty habits couldn’t make that much difference to my looks, could they?
And what habits would those be? Well, like most women, I crave chocolate and have been known to scoff three bars of Galaxy in one go if I desperately need a sugar fix. I smoked in my 20s and, although I officially quit at 30, I still succumb to the odd puff after a night on the merlot.

But now, at the age of 42, a fascinating experiment has made me rethink the whole way I live. For I have seen the future of my face. Or, rather, I have been given a glimpse of how it would look in ten years if I continue to ply my body with alcohol and excess sugar, or take up smoking again. The results were not a pretty sight and will serve as a stark warning to women who regularly enjoy a couple of glasses of wine a night or the odd sugary doughnut, and think it won’t do them any harm.

The article is pure BS. First, wine is good for you in reasonable quantities. Two glasses is reasonable. Second, diet and exercise are important as well. Sit around every night and eat chips and watch TV with no wine and compare that to the person that has two glasses of wine and eats meats, fruits and vegetables and hits the gym 3-5 days a week.
This picture is an “artists conception” exercise and is so ridiculous that the article does not even deserve our time for discussion. It belongs in the Sun.

Not that I look to Hollywierd for anything, but for sake of comparison and conversation, if you look at Betty White and Debby Reynolds, I think they have aged beautifully.
As I mentioned above...it’s art..an artist’s conception of what she might look like. Science & research be damned.

Yeah. I was agreeing with you. This is an article about how effective one can modify a photograph. It really has nothing whatsoever to do with wine.
I think I know what Carla Bruni-Sarkozy might think of all this foolishness.
One exception. Red wine is high in purines. If you suffer from gout or gouty arthritis, white wine would be better.

BTW, I think the photo comparison in the OP may be accurate if, instead of a couple of glasses of wine, she drank a half bottle of scotch every night. Of course, part and parcel to that would be that it would imply not much exercise and a relatively poor diet. ;-)
Apparently alcohol, in large quantities, keeps your arteries fairly clean.
