It has a lot to do with Romney. He is rising as more and more Republicans come to the conclusion that the Republican Party has found its Michael Dukakis, a technocratic Massachusetts governor running on competence, not ideology.

That's what all this means. Mitt Romney is a statist. Not that most people disagree with that assessment. Will just doesn't use that word despite it's accuracy.

Rush said it best the other day. The Republican elite think they can rule the Federal Government better than the dimoKKKRATS. That may well be true. However us Conservatives want an axe to be taken to the Federal Government and chop it down to size. That is a big difference.

I would think he’s more like Thomas Dewey, Wendell Willike or Bob Dole.
All these Northeastern Liberal/Statist RINOS look alike to me after a while. They all lose to Liberal/Statist closet-commies in the general.
The GOP must stop running to the left and offer a CLEAR ALTERNATIVE to the path of destruction we are following.

I have a hard time explaining what I want for president. He/She has to agree with me on most, not all, of my core beliefs. demand that this person have, at at least once in their life, had dirt under their fingernails. I have spent many hours burning leeches off of my man-thang. They don't have to go that far.
Cain grew up as a normal little black kid covered in dirt and loving every minute of it.
Perry grew-up on a cotton farm picking and seeding that crap. I don't know which one was poorer, but they were rich in parental love.
Both served their country in different ways.
I know all the immature Perry haters are going to jump in and call their stupid names and some will spout some lies, but this is my opinion and I fought for the right to express it.

Quite a straw-man you are build there buddy!
As for me, all Perry has to do is the following and I'm a complete supporter of his:
1. Completely support the use of E-Verify in all 50 states as a pre-requisite to getting any job.
2. Completely support a COMPLETE border wall/fence across the southern border.
3. Reverse his stance against Interior Enforcement against Illegal Immigration, A.L.A. AZ1070.
4. Reverse his stance FOR Comprehensive Immigration Reform completely.
5. Admit that from a Limited Government perspective his support of the Guardisil Executive Order was a big mistake.
These would be the real steps of a real CONSERVATIVE and would prove to everyone he was serious about being a constitutional, limited-government conservative. His other positions are great, but he has to fix this hole in his southern flank if he wants to win.

That is the great picture of Dukakis and he is not a statist, he’s a jackass. Thats what the name reminds me of..

Dear George:
Dukakis got crushed in the election.

You realize that comparing someone to Dukakis is not a complement, don’t you?
