Independent study confirms global warming exists

"...While climate is certainly an extraordinarily complicated mechanism, the facts keep pointing back to this simple fact of chemistry. Increased CO2 and methane may not be the sole cause of climate change, but it’s definitely a cause and almost certainly a major one.

Now, what next? My Forbes colleague Tim Worstall argues that this is a serious situation, but one in which the human race can make “marginal changes and still survive and thrive.” I agree with him on this – as long as we act quickly. The technology is moving at a rapid pace, and the industries are catching up. Just take solar power, for example – it’s currently one of the fastest growing industries in the United States with total growth of 6.8% from 2010 – 2011. Over 100,000 people are employed in the solar industry domestically, and solar companies plan on hiring about 24,000 people in the coming year. That’s an amazing success story."

Solar, nuclear, and eventually fusion, and then we won't have fossil fuels to worry about anymore.

Independent group of nutbags from Bezerkley, yeah right. Using corrupted NASA data as well as others.

Pray for America

No it’s not. That is a stupid statement. Almost as stupid as saying the science is settled. Almost.

Funded by quite a lot of government "stimulus", no doubt.

The earth warms the earth cools it's been going on for billions of years and man hasn't a damn thing to do with it nor can do a damn thing about it.

AGW is a deliberate hoax where the frauds insult those who not only know the facts but threaten their lucrative flim-flamm.

I wonder if the billions in stimulus money has anything to do with the growth. The solar industry would be dead without federal intervention.

Ain’t buyin’ their act no mo.

Period.

Yup, that 3/100ths of one percent CO2 in the atmosphere is really doing a number on our heat.

Global warming will erase your hard drive. Not the data, but your actual hard drive! Not only that, but it will scramble any disks that are even close to your computer. It will recalibrate your refrigerator's coolness setting so all your ice cream goes melty. It will demagnetize the strips on all your credit cards, screw up the tracking on your television and use subspace field harmonics to scratch any CD's you try to play.

It will give your ex-girlfriend your new phone number. It will mix Kool-aid into your fishtank. It will drink all your beer and leave its socks out on the coffee table when there's company coming over. It will put a dead kitten in the back pocket of your good suit pants and hide your car keys when you are late for work.

Global warming will make you fall in love with a penguin. It will give you nightmares about circus midgets. It will pour sugar in your gas tank and shave off both your eyebrows while dating your girlfriend behind your back and billing the dinner and hotel room to your Discover card.

It will seduce your grandmother. It does not matter if she is dead, such is the power of Global warming, it reaches out beyond the grave to sully those things we hold most dear.

It moves your car randomly around parking lots so you can't find it. It will kick your dog. It will leave libidinous messages on your boss's voice mail in your voice! It is insidious and subtle. It is dangerous and terrifying to behold. It is also a rather interesting shade of mauve.

Global warming will give you Dutch Elm disease. It will leave the toilet seat up. It will make a batch of Methanphedime in your bathtub and then leave bacon cooking on the stove while it goes out to chase gradeschoolers with your new snowblower.

Listen to me. Global warming does not exist.

It cannot do anything to you. But I can. I am sending this message to everyone in the world. Tell your friends, tell your family. If anyone else bothers me with fearmongering concerning Global warming, I will turn hating them into a religion. I will do things to them that would make a horsehead in your bed look like Easter Sunday brunch.

Global warming may indeed exist.

But humans are not its cause.

The earth will warm and cool over time. Deal with it.

Newt will be thrilled.

After all, this “independent” research exonerates his support of the Anthropomorphic Global Warming “carbon tax” scam.

Look, CO2 is GOOD!

If there is any heating-up going on, I’m certain that the first order cause is the SUN (doh!).

CO2 is a fourth order or third order contributor at most.

There was a polar meltdown that these simpletons have ignored. It was on Mars. Check out the output form the sun for the last few years! At least they did not call these nut jobs scientists.

Global warming has been occurring since the end of the last ice age.

We are in an interglacial period.

It won't last forever.

What you wrote may not be the sole cause of anything bad that may happen to someone, but it’s definitely a cause and almost certainly a major one.

“Increased CO2 and methane may not be the sole cause of climate change, but it’s definitely a cause and almost certainly a major one”

That statement is absolutely pure poppycock! They aren’t MAJOR components to climate change, and its laughable folks keep claiming this. CO2 in the Atmosphere is more of an effect than a cause, the warmer the earth gets, the tundras melt and the CO2 trapped in them are released, that’s not a cause, its an effect... warmer temperatures and increased CO2 also result in more plant life and algea as well, converting more C02 to O2.. to try to play that C02 is a major factor in climate change is not remotely proven.

In fact the single biggest factor in heat retention and greenhouse effect is WATER VAPOR! No other element comes remotely close the scope and effect when it comes to reflecting and keeping heat in.

Sure we have had global warming. The place were I am sitting was under hundreds of feet of glacier ice about 20,000 years ago, but I didn’t have to tunnel out of the ice to walk the dog this morning. Obviously we had a lot of global warming to push these glaciers back above the arctic circle, but we also had a heck of a lot of global cooling to have caused most of the northern hemisphere to be covered with ice several times. Man increased CO2 levels could not be the cause so obviously there is some other mechanism of climate change that we cannot control or influence that caused these ice ages.

It's nothing more than an old response to the “Good Times!” virus warnings that went viral back in the 90s. All I did was remove “Good Times” and inserted “Global Warming.”

I don't recall anything bad happening to anyone when “Take that, Good Times!” hit the in boxes. You can stop hyperventilating anytime now.

Looking exclusively at the temperature record, no one can logically claim that any temperature trend will continue on an arbitrarily long time scale.

The logical conclusions from an analysis of the record are
