Maw objected to 4 or 5 of my weddings. Never let it stop me.

I don’t get it. He was arrested? For what? Did his mother sic the police on him for it?
BTW, notice she was too young when she had him. Although surely she couldn’t be complaining the groom was too young...

“Jameson didn’t know what the mother’s objections concerned.”
Really? She was not shouting why as her son carried her out.

Don't think the whole story is being told here. If I were the bride-to-be, I'd be running as fast as I could from that family, though.

The cops not only arrested him on his freaking wedding day, but kept him in jail for
TWO days.
Do cops ever NOT arrest people anymore? Was is REALLY necessary to arrest the guy? WTF is wrong with cops anymore!

“... I’d be running as fast as I could...”
Either that or have both of them get out of town. If the future MIL is a bit loopy and can’t understand why her 35 year old son is getting married... maybe it is a good time to saw through the umbilical cord and RUN! (but I think there is way more to the story!)
Mission accomplished, Mom.

It’s a good assumption that she was too immature. And likely illegitimate.
My mother and my MIL got married too soon (much less had legitimate kids). My MIL even stood up and objected to her niece’s daughter’s engagement a few years ago (during the “advice” segment at the bridal shower)! My mother calls herself stupid. Of course, that’s just the marriages, per se.
I agree. People should be past college age, get married then have kids.
