Matty Alou dies at age 72 (MLB outfielder)

Matty Alou, once part of an all-Alou outfield for the San Francisco Giants with brothers Felipe and Jesus, died Thursday in his native Dominican Republic. He was 72.

Gosh. Time marches on. The Alou brothers were all-stars in my heyday.

Here is a little Alou trivia - Felipe Alou (Matty’s brother) was the first hitter in the Fulton County Stadium (Atlanta) and his son Moises was the last!

What are the odds?

Good job! I’m am old timer MLB trivia buff and I had not heard that one. Kudos. In the sixties, Matty had the stick for average, Felipe had it for power and Jesus had the glove. Moises was every bit the player as Dad and the uncles later on imho.

I only know because I was there at the last game there. It was sad. Turner field is not the same.
