Justin Timberlake took a marine to her unit's annual ball Saturday night

The singer posted a photo along with a letter on his website that the Marine Corps Ball in Richmond, Va., was "one of the most moving evenings I've ever had."

"I knew I would have an evening that I wouldn't forget... Something I could tell my friends about. What I didn't know was how moved I would be by the whole experience," he wrote.

Maybe. But if not, he did something nice, anyway.

Shows a level of introspection and respect that’s refreshing in that area of our society. I’m impressed.

"I have to tell you, it's not every day that I meet a 23 year old girl and she's more worried about if I'm having fun or if I'm comfortable! It hit me all of a sudden that these were the type of people that look after us and our freedom... Humble, concerned for others before themselves..." he wrote on his blog. "This was the type of person our Marine Corps was building. I was really blown away."

This is a great story and well worth the read...only one page or so. Thanks for posting this.

I must say, upon initially reading the headline, I didn’t realize a formal dance was involved. Kudos to Mr Timberlake for caring and being a patriot and bad me for always trying to see the funny side of headlines.

I believe he is, too. I had read awhile back that he had committed to this event, so good on him.

He also has a great sense of humor.Outside of Alec Baldwin, he is probably the best(recurring) host SNL has had.

Besides the feel-good aspects of all this, he certainly had a good looking date.

He is a good guy. His annual golf event is well attended by the leading players and has raised millions of $ for charity.

Who is the lucky lady? And wasn’t it JT who had convinced that starlet to go with the Marine who asked her out by YouTube from Afghanistan? I wonder how that turned out...

Timberlake could have turned this into a huge publicity stunt. I give him credit for "class".

Hope he does some USO events. Justin....Call Sinese!!

He did something nice? Looks like he got to enjoy the company of a beautiful, strong Marine.

Still - kudos to Timberlake. When other Hollyweird tards are standing with OWS, Timberlake takes the time to stand with the Marines.

Good on him.

Great picture.

During World War Two, so many in Hollywood supported the troops ... like Bob Hope. I hope this rekindles the trend to appreciate the sacrifices soldiers make for us all.

Glad he did this. Any word on Mila Kunis? She started this whole thing and “talked” Justin into accepting the invitation.

Well, compared to the kind of women he's usually around, that was probably a bit scary. I was amused at his amazement at going on a date with a woman who was concerned about his enjoying himself. Duh - that's what nice girls are like!

The end of the article says - Kunis and Sgt. Scott Moore’s ball is later this week.

I hope she goes through with it and would be smart to do so as to seeing how positive her fans would respond to it.

I heard this morning on TV that the event she accepted the invitation to won't occur until next weekend.

I’m thinking it was probably good for Justin to spend the evening with a normal girl. Very pretty also.
