I’m trying to figure that out...it is almost work-o-clock and it looks like they’ve done not much more than kick an ant hill.
I hope they clean it up soon.
They call it "human microphone." I've seen clips of OWS Atlanta and Philly doing that stupid stuff. It must be an OWS thing.

I think part of the repeat chant stuff is for attention. The one who starts it is secretly saying “look at me!, I’m so smart or important or something”

If Mayor Bloomers doesn’t let the police do more than this—it will only embolden these pests.

From that feed it sounds like the park is cleared out. Funny, the camera guy said he was the press, but doesn’t have a badge. “Hey come on - I took a Taxi down here! 98000 viewers on Al jazerra - come on! We’ve been here the whole time.”
Hmmm - Al Jazerra!? (I wonder how much of our tax-payer money Obama funnels to Al Jazserra?)
That’s what I was thinking....if they allow themselves to be defeated by the occupiers, this thing is HOSED.
They cleared the park out a while ago. The occupiers have been jamming the street around it, threatening to block Broadway for rush hour.
Looks like NYPD doesn't intend for them to be able to do that.
Someone said earlier they would be allowed back into the park after it had been cleaned, but they wouldn’t be allowed to set up tents or sleep in the park.
We’ll see...

Thanks - just jumped to the end of the thread. I’m glad that they have been able to clear the various parks around the country without the violence that would perhaps help the protestors. I wonder if it is better police tactics or general wimpyness on the part of the protestors?
In my neck of the woods they caught some yutes speeding on the highway that had left Portland. Found some large fireworks in mason jars (explosives with shrapnel). Lots of anarchists in this area. Glad they didn’t get to use them to provoke a huge encounter. (And glad they got caught!)
I thought I heard him say the police took the barricades down and let people through.
I wonder what happened to Ashley? She appealed to him.
