When political royalty weds fashion royalty, the expectations of grandeur are high.
But when Lauren Bush, niece of former President George W. Bush and granddaughter of former President George H.W. Bush, married David Lauren, youngest son of fashion designer Ralph Lauren, they decided to make everything a little more down-home and country.
That's not to say that the event wasn't the epitome of fashion and luxury, as the newly-wed couple described their rustic affair to Vogue.
David described the event like 'a beautiful movie... like you were riding across the old west and you stopped in at a wedding'.
The couple certainly dressed the part, with Lauren, 27, wearing a long-sleeved embellished dress with tulle, lace and crystals. The look was completed with a headpiece around her forehead and a long veil.

What a magnificent dress! Ralph Lauren showed off his talent, and the workmanship of his atelier to the max in this glorious, unforgettable dress.
The detail work in the embroidery and beading is exquisite.
It is very elaborate, but not at all fussy. I love the very traditional elements, and the lovely photos of the bride and groom.
Ralph Lauren is the ultimate self made man and all American success story. Started out selling ties behind the counter at Brooks Brothers. His great eye for style, and his marketing genius, created a fashion empire based on quality and good taste.
