You would need to log into the router as an administrator (using the wired computer) and check the configuration settings.

  1. Open a new browser tab or session.
  2. Enter the IP address of the router. Linksys / Cisco routers use "http://192.168.1.1"

    Netgear may (or may not) use the same address.

  3. At this point, you should see an administrative login page.
  4. You will then need the login id and password (often defaulted to blank or null).
  5. Once you are in, you can check or change configuration settings.
