GUT CHECK: Is America's Christmas about Christ? Or about buying imported communist Chinese crap?
(vanity)

Posted on 11/26/2011 6:01:02 PM PST by Cringing Negativism Network

Want to consider something for a change, rather than simply accept mass advertized "free trade" propaganda from Walmart during this season, to be buying crap made in China?

Oh, that's really gonna help.

You are a genius.

Kind of a false choice there. Most of the stuff I buy, just like all Americans actually, doesn’t come from China. But I’m not really into the whole religion thing, and half the people I’m buying gifts for are non-Christian of various flavors.

You gotta stop obsessing. It’s not all about China, and it’s not all about WalMart, and your one trick pony BS is tiresome, boring, and often times factually challenged.

You seem to have overlooked the “communist China” detail.

Why?

Is making jobs and import revenue for communist China part of Christmas now?

Just breathe. You don’t want inexpensive goods from China don’t buy them.
Christmas is what you make of it, apparently you want to make it about b#itching and moaning.

You are in denial.

Have you been shopping in the last three years?

What’s an Xmas card and why would it have a religious meaning?

Make your own. You can find the programs to do that.

That is what the wife and I do. More fun to boot since you can make them more personal.

Shop all the time, and I read the statistics, which is why I know you’re wrong. And I’ve seen the threads enough to have seen the FACTS pointed out to you, but you ignore the facts, they don’t fit in your world. You’re the one in denial.

My wife and I have it figured out. We give each other $500 in cash every year.

Just go buy something Chinese. It’s almost Christmas after all.

If the Chinese product is a better value than the American made one, I will buy the Chinese one every time.

If your thinking prevailed, we'd still have the big 3 to chose from for automobiles. They'd still be crappy, poorly made junk because "our" companies would still be cozy with the UAW and would have never had any incentive to produce a decent vehicle that could compete on the open market.

The goal is to make America MORE competitive, not limit consumer choices in any effort to desperately hold back modernization and encourage bloated, inefficient labor unions to reign forever.

In other words, you have not been shopping in the last three years.

Computers now are all made in China

Flat screen tvs are all made in China.

Almost everything in Walmart is made in China. Just about the only thing not yet made in China, is Zippo lighters.

Put a 100 percent tariff on Chinese slave-labor trash.

That's a good idea...let's punish Americans by doubling their prices. Meanwhile, we can continue to send money by the buckets to DC.

Soon we will not have a big 3 to choose from.

We will have Cherry knockoffs of GM cars.

See there you go again. The facts were pointed out to you but you just pretend they aren’t there. You’re just a liar. A doomsday crying freaked out liar spreading panic based on lies. Lies lies lies. Lots of stuff is made here, including flat screens, and computers, and about 2/3 of the stuff in WalMart. But I know you’ll ignore that and lie some more. That’s all you do. Every thread you find, spread your useless panic spawned lies.

The idea is to make the prices of Chinese slave-labor trash high enough that people will choose other products instead of the Chinese ones, thus taking dollars out of China’s pockets.

And BTW, that may not be the best economic policy, but it’s necessary for national security and survival.

Outsourcing Americans’ JOBS punishes Americans.

Firing Americans punishes Americans.

What we’re doing now, punishes Americans.

America will have collapsed by then.

We cannot race China to the bottom.

We will lose. Badly.

I am torn by this. Of course Christmas is about the birth of Christ. However, Christmas is an important time for stores. This is the day that they receive 75-80 percent of their yearly sales. If consumers did not buy during this time especially as much as they spend then we would not have many stores and of course workers would be fired. I think a little balance could be involved though.
