Word For The Day, Monday, 11/28/11
In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of "Word for the Day".
redolent;adj.
1. having a pleasant odor; fragrant. 2. odorous or smelling (usually followed by of ): redolent of garlic. 3. suggestive; reminiscent (usually followed by of ): verse redolent of Shakespeare.
Etymology: 1350–1400; Middle English < Latin redolent- (stem of redolēns ), present participle of redolēre to emit odor, equivalent to red- red- + ol ( ēre ) to smell (akin to odor) + -ent- -ent
Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the Word for the Day in a sentence.
The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day.

Redolent of the nannystate. Obviously the poor kid needs help, but removing him from his parents custody is out and out nazism.

What is your take on Bernie Fine? I told you before, I am no SU fan, but this STILL smells foul to me. His wife agrees with accusations coming from her own lover. WTF? Is she really credible at that point? This guys father swears he is lying, as well. There is a discordant note in this story to me.

Oh Lord, it got a whole lot more sordid didn’t it? xshub was reading stuff aloud to me yesterday and playing the dang audio of her phone call. His take on it was: “this is f@#$ed up!” She had a little baby at the time, she’s in her 40s and he’s 18, living in her dang basement. She is sure as hell no hottie. Plus, this entire conversation is conducted with those HIDEOUS upstate NY accents. THe guy is NOT alleging any sex, just touching and fondling. So, Bernie sends wifey up to check on the baby so he can go down and feel this kid up? I just don’t get it.
The newest accuser def sounds ridic. he claims Bernie met him at an autograph signing session and then just up and contacts him and asks him to COME ON THE ROAD WITH ME TO THE PITT-SU game next week??? how does that make sense. AND, that would mean the entire dang team would have seen him on the dang bustrip to Pgh. SO implausible and as you said the dad says the guy is full of BS on this. Also he is himself accused of molestation [the new accuser]
Look on the bright side; somewhere a pharmacist is mixing up a really potent chemical cocktail, and a druggy is about to go on the ride of his life!
My reaction is strange, because I was ready to castrate Sandusky myself with some dull farming implement, but this set of accusations is just REDOLENT of setup to me.

A++++ i agree it doesn’t seem to add up, but the wife’s tape definitely makes it more lurid and screwed up all the way around. one distinction from Sandusky is these alleged victims hung around and let it go on TIL THEY WERE IN THEIR 20s. that just doesn’t seem normal to me. Again, no accusations of SEX, just fondling, and you are some grown man letting that go on into your 20s? Clearly, the fondling didn’t turn him gay since he was doing the wife years later. just sick.
