ATLANTA (AP) - An attorney for Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain has demanded cell phone records from an Atlanta businesswoman accusing Cain of an extramarital affair.
Cain attorney Lin Wood sent a letter Wednesday to a lawyer representing Ginger White asking that Cain's team be provided with cell phone records showing calls and text messages between White and Cain.

It seems as if he could go on offense and release his own cell phone and text records. He would have those readily available and could put this whole thing to rest.
Then, it would be up to her to prove something more happened!
If she is telling the truth she will gladly give up the records. If she is lying, she will not give up the records.
This is a bit ridiculous. He knows whether he made them or not. Come on Cain. If you’re innocent of this then sue her for slander - depose her and have both of you go under oath. If you’re not innocent - then confess and move on.
This isn’t that difficult. Reassess nothing. You either had an affair or you did not. You denied it personally - your attorney said what happens between consenting adults is out of bounds. Enough charades.
So can her lawyer demand the same thing?
It seems that White was sending the text messages asking Cain for more money.
If there are going to be law suits, it will be against the networks that are allowing Ginger White to run her pie hole on air. ABC has taken the bait...

Herman Cain’s attorney Lin Wood will be an exclusive guest to discuss the text messages and phone calls brought up by Ginger White for the first time.
But releasing HER records will show who ELSE she has been talking to, including anyone who may be paying her for her story. Depending on whether they can access all of her records, or only the ones related to Cain.

The only way they will be able to do this is to put legal pressure on her, validating WHY they are demanding phone records. First steps to doing what NEEDS to be done.
This issue is now far more important to me than Cain getting the nomination. These evil bastards need to be taken down.
The media reported 61 calls or text messages in four months, making it sound like 1 every other day.
But from the brief snapshot that that one of the network showed of the records, you could see that most were text messages and part of the same conversation.
Thus if he can get a copy of the records and actual text messages and if the text messages are all business. Then he can show that instead of 61 phone calls over 4 months, that there were only 5 or 6 text conversations over 4 months and they were all business related or her asking for help, or her calling him.
I see no reason why Cain should release his personal records. Those records would have numbers and contacts on them that are privy information to his campaign. If he were to release records with redaction of any kind the press would have a field day questioning each and every redacted item.
Actually better is if there was truly no hanky panky going on and it was all congenial then release the actual text contents and if it is shown she was hitting up Cain for $$ then show it.

This woman has already lost one lawsuit for libel, and had a protection order requested against her because she was threatening defamation of character to her business partner.
