I would made darn sure it didn’t think my finger was a carrot. A normal size grasshopper can take a chunk out of you.

I remember reading somewhere about people eating chocolate covered grasshoppers. This one can be breaded, deep fried, and accompany an order of fries and slaw on the side.

The nice thing about eating insects is that you don’t have to gut, skin or scale them.

I was almost too afraid to click on the link.

Definitely gross. And I’m sure somebody somewhere eats it toasted and salted and will tell us about the experience...

No, but if you don't chew them thoroughly, you can get shell stuck between your teeth.

We grow them pretty big here is Illinois farm country. They are also one of the reasons I wear a full face helmet!

I understand about helmets. About 1968 or so my oldest brother decided to rebel. While our dad was away at work, my brother really painted up his room. It was a real work of art, complete with neon paint, black light, etc and wise sayings written on the walls. One of them was something along the lines that there is no greater thrill than meeting a large German grasshopper face to face on your Hog at 70MPH.
