HIGHLAND – A Highland woman has been arrested and charged with choking her mother up against a wall during an altercation at 40 Vaccaro Road in Highland. The Ulster County Sheriff’s Office said Tiffany Gonzalez, 33, was charged with criminal obstruction of breathing and resisting arrest, both misdemeanors.

Deputies responded to the Gonzalez residents for a 911 call of a domestic dispute. They determined that Gonzalez was intoxicated and a physical altercation erupted where she choked her mother up against a wall. As police attempted to arrest Gonzalez, she resisted and had to be subdued to be placed into custody.

She was released pending a future court appearance
