Tuesday was a day that started with a stunning sunrise, as seen above in this photo by Associated Press photographer Elaine Thompson.
The day was bracketed with another stunning display of color at sunset, courtesy of our dryer than usual December. Rain is expected to return later in the week.

I remember an old saying my mom used to say:
Red sky at night, sailors delight; red sky n the morning, sailors take warning.
I can’t say how truthful the saying is, only that my mom used to say it.
But here is a source that thinks they know:
That saying is actually true. I’m an avid boater and we spend a lot of time in the Washington San Juan Islands. Red sky at night means the next day will be clear (no stroms), red sky in morning means a storm approaching).
Great...Just hope no snow...Headed for Seattle next week for the holidays with family.
Just a 30% chance of snow showers a week from Thursday....Mountain passess likely to get more....have a great time!
