It’s interesting. However I have never understood an industry that spends so much time congratulating themselves.
Still interesting.

I know it's been said before but IMHO this is the worst year for motion pictures...ever.

Are they going to continue last year's stupid idea of 10 best picture nominees? There weren't 10 movies worth seeing last year.

“Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role KENNETH BRANAGH / Sir Laurence Olivier – “MY WEEK WITH MARILYN””

I haven’t seen this one (actually, I hadn’t heard of it, either), but it sounds quite interesting. Branagh is an amazing talent, and I think I’d enjoy his take on Olivier.

Also, the HBO series with Steve Buscemi caught my eye. Buscemi rules.

The cast of Parks and Recreation should have been nominated. Love that Ron Swanson -
On his ideas about government: “My idea of a perfect government is one guy who sits in a small room at a desk, and the only thing he’s allowed to decide is who to nuke. The man is chosen based on some kind of IQ test, and maybe also a physical tournament, like a decathlon. And women are brought to him, maybe ... when he desires them.”

It seems to me that I heard someone say that it can be "up to" ten movies. I'm with you. There aren't ten movies worth nominating; but, I don't think that will stop them from nominating some movies that no one outside Hollywood would want to see.

As to these nominations from SAG: Go Game of Thrones!

I always thought it would be funny if Susan Sarandon won a SAG award.

Read the artical at my link on post#14. Key sentences ===> The Board voted to institute a system that will now produce anywhere between 5 and 10 nominees in the category. That number won’t be announced until the Best Picture nominees themselves are revealed at the January nominations announcement.

I had to laugh, SAG really did their best to award as many Blacks as possible, it became a joke when watching you knew in advance who would win.

Now that’s a SNL routine you’ll never see.

And what’s with Susan Sarandan’s dress, giving a whole new meaning to SAG.

I really wish they would be honest and just rename it to the Film Actors Guild ...
