Christian Post: I understand you're a dedicated football fan and I recently saw a video of you encouraging Tim Tebow as he encounters public criticism. Why do you like him?

Cosby: I like what's happening in Denver. The beauty of what I see is that Tebow speaks his mind. When we look at the settling of this country we see a Bible in hand and God. Every Thanksgiving has God and the peacefulness of gratitude. It was important when the Twin Towers were hit and the sorrow with them that the first thing Congress did was sing "God Bless America."

But ironically, regardless of any political positions he holds, Cosby would have without a doubt been a better President than Obama. Cosby’s speeches certainly would have had far better ratings.

That moron Mike Taibbi described Tebow’s throwing style as, how can I put this cleanly, looking like he’s performing an immoral act on a washing machine! UMMM, Mikey, ever see old film footage of Babe Ruth in action? Just by looking at the Babe’s physique one would think it was a wonder that his bat could even make contact with the ball, let alone all those homers he knocked out of the park. Same with Yogi Berra, who’d have thought that a guy like him was not only a tremendous athlete, but one of the greatest catchers in the history of the game? Even that nutcase Charles Barkley said it best, let Tebow’s performance on the feild do the talking. And as far as Tebow publicly proclaiming Jesus as his Lord and Savior( the REAL cause of all the controversy), I remember when Mohammed Ali made public his conversion to Islam, the butt-kissing he received would make Bawney Fwank and Perez Hilton jealous!

On the field Tebow reminds me of anther quarterback who was always maligned for his throwing motion and flutterballs. Surprisingly the two are similar in many ways.

He played his college football at UCLA where he was the last single-wing tailback, a position that required a player to pass, run, and kick. In 1960, his final season, he threw for over 1,000 yards, ran for over 800, scored eight touchdowns, was the team's punter, and finished fifth in voting for the Heisman Trophy, leading the nation with 1,889 yards of total offense and becoming an All-American. He was also named Most Valuable Player in the 1961 College All-Star Game and received the1960 W.J. Voit Memorial Trophy as the outstanding football player on the Pacific Coast.

He was picked in the first round of the 1961 NFL draft, eleventh overall, by the San Francisco 49ers where he was utilized primarily as a running back. During his rookie year he rushed for 509 yards and ten touchdowns, four coming in one game against the expansion Minnesota Vikings.

A ball control quarterback, he remained the primary starter from 1971-’77, going 49-22-1 in that time. He credits his passing improvements to Jurgensen, who he said helped him with his grip and his throwing mechanics, mostly his hip rotation.

When I think of him I have a mental video of Minn. inside the 5 yd. line and Kapp fumbling forward or shovel passing an end over end ball that goes over the pileup and caught for a touchdown.

Did that actually happen?
