I wanted a Tablet, mainly, to learn the Android OS, to surf easier while watching TV, read eBooks, and work on spreadsheets and docs. Yet, I've already watched a music video on youtube, paired it to my phone and ear buds, downloaded an Android application, read a few pages of an eBook, and made several posts with it.

I really look forward to hacking it, installing a "cooked" ROM, and, in general, seeing what it takes before it's FUBAR'd. Then, bring it back to life. Woo-wee!

Thank you Mrs. Claus! LOL I guess now, I'll have to re-box it and put it under the tree?

My wife gave me a tablet for Christmas. Viagra! Do you think she’s trying to tell me something?

:) Enjoy your tablet.

Congratulations.

This library management tool would be worth your while for ebooks:
http://calibre-ebook.com/about

Together with plugins from Apprentice Alf you can strip copy protection from the ebooks you buy and format shift them as needed. Recently the .Lit standard (once the largest market sector) was abandoned so it behooves you to format shift whatever books are important to you as the years progress.

Nice. I’ve kind of lost my Linux enthusiasm of late, but I still read up on some of it.

I bought my wife an Ipad 1 last year, and I bought a Samsung tab for me a couple of months ago. The iPad 10” screen is so worth it. The Samsung only has 7” of real estate, and I find it difficult to type. I like both. If I had to choose, I’d probably stay with the iPad, but the lack of flash bugs the heck out of my wife. Maybe the Samsung in 10” would be the best of both worlds. But I have zero intention of screwing around with it, rooting and stuff. If it doesn’t work out of the box, I get impatient and leave it lying around, unused.

How much will you have to pay a month? (I’m looking at options for tablets, and this does look interesting.)

Viagra goes off patent in April, and will be much cheaper then.

Could you ask Mrs. Claus if she could have a word with my wife? The word would be Ducati.

Oh, Oh, you know what happens after four hours? More fun! Is that not a selling point made out as a warning and Viagra didn’t do it until the others did?

Excellent humor, made me laugh and my wife got online for something...

Hope you enjoy your new toy!

I usually don’t get hyped on techie gizmos, as I work in IT all day...but, I reeeealy want a tablet, specifically the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1. A close second is the Motorola Xyboard.
Just can’t justify spending $500+ on it. Maybe someday...

Try thumb keyboard. It splits the keyboard and you use your thumbs.Works pretty good.

Pay per month for what? I already have internet service, if that’s what you mean. I pay $34 a month for it. My wife sent me the receipt. She bought it from QVC on some kind of hourly deal. She paid $158. for it. It’s retail is $212.
