Albania does NOT have a replacement-level fertility rate, unlike Great Britain, France, Ireland, Iceland, or Sweden. It formerly, however, was the highest in Europe, but that was a while ago.

Under normal circumstances, more males are born than females. Many did not survive infancy but do now thanks to modern medicine. Nature compensates for the fragility of male infants by producing more of them.
