LAKE CITY, Minn. (KTTC) -- The family of the Lake City police officer who was shot while responding to a domestic call is asking community members to leave their porch lights on for the next three days, as a sign of support.

32-year old officer Shawn Schneider remains in critical condition. Police say there were two people inside the house prior to the arrival of the officers. A woman escaped before the officer was shot and she was not harmed, thanks to officer Schneider.

Please pray for officer Schneider, he was injured while helping a woman, who was only 17. More information at KTTC probably Rochester Post Bulletin. The last we heard he was in a medically induced coma and that was last night. Thanks

Sounds like a good officer. Sigh. Prayers for him and his family.

A friend of mine who is a probation officer was shot while doing a home visit. For some reason he wore his vest on that day when he almost never wore it before.

The kid shot through the door with a 12 gauge as my friend knocked.
