This information is based on supplements. I do believe there are benefits to getting D from sun exposure on a regular basis. Can't prove it, though. ;-)

The only two times I've been sick in the last two years were the two times I ran out of vitamin D3 and was waiting for my order to arrive. Coincidence?

I swear, every year it’s something different. Every year, scientists whose speciality is the internet suddenly discover that the answer has been here all along! Simple, obvious... Ancient Chinese Secret!

Possibly psychosomatic. I don’t take any vitamin supplements and I haven’t been sick in quite a while. I try to eat lots of fruits and vegetables, though.

Not to worry.. as soon as Big Pharm can give the Congress enough money and all vitamins and supplements are belong to them — the vitamins and supplements will once again be great! and cost 10 times as much.

EVERYONE is different........My paternal Grandfather died in his sleep at age 50.....got it? (He was NOT overweight) I will do whatever I can, including taking vitamins and supplements, AND eating healthy, which I have done since I was about 2....but, I almost ended up in a wheelchair at age 52 due to what the docs THOUGHT was Rheum Arthritis....it wasn’t.....bio-ID hormones, vit/supplements, etc....make me FINE. Thank you for playing.

Same here. Several of my friends have been tested for vitamin D deficiency and were given mega doses to bring their level to normal levels. I have a vitamin D test scheduled but don't think that is my problem. Cancer hospitals are giving vitamin D in their patient therapy. I believe it's a valuable treatment for heart disease and cancer.

Sure sounds like the same theories that were pushed before the Feds took Avastin off the market.

I have heard they also give a large dose of Vit D3 if someone admits to a hospital with a heart attack...

can you get D and D3 from drinking milk?

I used to drink a lot when i was younger and felt great

I stopped drinking milk for many years and did not feel as good, i thought it was just age

Then I started drinking it again and I feel good

almost a quart a day. I think I read somewhere that you know you are getting enough vitamin D if you start having more vivid dreams and remember them (which I have certainly noticed)

I almost replace meals with milk. and I gave up coffee and drink tea with honey too - started losing weight

Well my son is now three and he was on his children’s liquid dose that he didn’t even know he was getting. He was completely fine and my husband and I were having issues out of both ends.

And the dosage has to be sufficient, too. Half of these studies don’t give enough of a supplement to help a Chihuahua pup and then they’re surprised when there are no dramatic effects.

Long time tennis player in Sunny east-bay of Contra Costa County. Would play for approx. 3 hours 5 - 6 times a week.

After having a blood test for the first time, my vit. D level
was 11 where the low and high was 30 - 60. So l was put on vitamin D 4000 units. Year later l’m showing 35 which is in the normal low range.

I don’t take any vitamin supplements and I haven’t been sick in quite a while.

I take vitamin supplements generally because they are mixed up with the aspirin when I'm hunting for the headache/hangover fix.

I'm gonna die. Ugly. It's foretold in the writings.

But when, fergoshsakes?

Tequila, stewed tomatoes and de-salted herring for breakfast on Sundays and I still live?

Is there no mercy?

I'll take it as it comes, not expect to live forever, and hit knees to gratefully ack what has been given to me so far.

TYJ.

After having a blood test for the first time,

If you are over the age of 10, and folks around aren't freaking out about getting a blood test (can they?, with collapsed veins? Tune in later...), and asking how to set the broken bones... You don't play hard enough.

Play hard, live good, be good, and give the family stories to tell after you are gone. ;)

Here's a coincidence. I took D3 the last two years also, and didn't have a significant cold either winter. Usually I get a couple. A doctor friend of mine suggested I try it.

My levels were low normal and my doctor put me on Vit D. He told me if I could get my levels higher I might have a bit more energy. At my last lab test, my level had risen to 43, and I do think I feel somewhat better. Also, it seems like I am not having the allergy problems I used to, and I have not been sick in a long time.

Don’t waste your time with WEB MD or the other medical establishments Quacks. They are all about fear, and the lie that you cannot heal yourself.

All they want to do is over prescribe you pills in order to keep you sick and broke. Don’t waste your time. The truth is in plain view.
