I wouldn’t know.
We got my daughter a game for her Wii, “Just Dance 3.” One of the songs you can dance to is “Let’s Go to the Mall” by Robin Sparkles.
Frosty, cold days encourage more snuggling with warm bodies under the blankets .... Which may, in due course, lead to loss of hiemal tissue for certain inexperienced snugglees.
Bad obviously. ;)
The sun is shining today, finally and it is actually getting warm, and I’ve spent the morning in the woods-with nearly everyone departed to God-knows-where for the week, I’m enjoying the deserted neighborhood. I was seriously worried that I’d develop seasonal affective disorder in the gloomy weather...
With all the hiemal gloominess
And all the news that is bad
It’s no wonder that shadenfreude
Makes us cheerful and glad
Like slothful OWS protestors
Being tossed out of every park
And brownouts in California
Freezing environuts in the dark
Because of their idol, Obama
We’re mostly broke, don’t doubt it
But if the instigators suffer, too
We feel much better about it
You never cease to amaze me, Robt. You and my husband would get along pretty well.
Around noon, I was up on the hill overlooking the road, sitting in what used to be the yard of an old vacation house that is only occupied 1 or 2 times a year now. I was watching the woman who leases the loon’s house running her lawnmower over the brown, frostbitten tufts of grass that used to be the lawn. Since the native grasses should not be mowed in winter, and it is mostly just thin, rocky soil anyway, the purpose of stirring it up eludes me...
Damnit Robt, you are making me gloomy again with your visions of blankets and snuggling...
Winter days are dreary,
the hiemal weather is bleak
so the Obamas race to Hawaii
Air Force 1 leaves it’s streak.
The golf course is quite the scene,
as Obama and his entourage arrive,
he hits some balls with his homies,
while they all chuck and jive.
The whole family is in on the action,
all on this great nation’s dime.
Their $4million dollar vacation,
should be a national crime.
About the only good thing winter offers is the opportunity to snuggle before a fire. I don’t much like winter sports.
Neither do I, but the casual observation of people from the cover of the forest is interesting. Especially when you went to that spot to read in the warm sun and feed the squirrels and deer the peanuts you put in your jacket pockets for that purpose.
The Canadian teen pop sensation from back in the day?
None other.
Awwwwwwwewe how cute is that!
You’ve never seen that before?
I’m making chicken picatta and sauteed squash and onions with lemon pepper and fresh basil for dinner-the basil I grow in a pot in the south-facing window over the kitchen sink is not growing as fast as it usually does-I planted the seeds in late October, as always, but the lack of sunshine has slowed the growth.
I got this hand-crank emergency radio/flashlight/etc. Thing for Christmas.
One feature is a mirror, for signalling to rescuers. The little instruction book actually says:
“For daylight use only. If there is no sun, the signalling mirror does not work”.
That's hiemal-arious!
