Police car bears brunt of damage
Police officers in the town of Sar-lat in southwest France were nonplussed when a camel smashed in the front window of their Ford Focus patrol car earlier this month.
"There was nothing I could do," police officer Laurent Legal, who collided with the animal, said. "It's a good thing I wasn't driving very fast."
The 500-kilogram animal, named Pépette, was part of a Christmas market attraction, along with his mate Cléopatre. After a hectic day of rides and a stint in the petting zoo, Pépette was spooked by a number of fans who crowded its van as it was being loaded up for the evening.
The dromedary took off, easily jumping a wall, running down a staircase and then colliding with the police car before heading down-town.
Two police cars escorted the animal for about 30 minutes as it strolled against traffic down one-way streets before being placated by its trainer.
I have had days like that myself.
Three Frenchmen, stranded in Cairo, bought a camel from Achmed’s Used Camels.
Achmed assured them it was the best camel he had. Obeyed all the traffic laws.
The three Frenchmen climbed on and away they went.
At the first red light the camel stopped and a car full of Egyptians pulled up alongside.
One said “Look at those three a$$holes on that camel”.
The three Frenchmen got off to look, the light changed, and they never saw that camel again.
Happy New Year!!!
