I agree. Even if you don't vote for president vote for your republican congressman, senator and local republican party members.

Paul is a one trick pony who won’t go anywhere after Iowa. With him out of the picture I think that all the anti-Romneys will be someone I can get excited about in the general election. When Palin decided to sit out the election it really became more about getting conservatives packed into congress anyway.

I would add to VOTE in the PRIMARY against ALL and I mean ALL incumbents.

Support your local candidates who are challenging the establishment and the incumbents!!!

Does it matter if Romney or 0bama appoints them?

This is a scary thread. Imagine if the average Republican voter did what many (most?) Freepers on this thread are threatening to do - not vote for POTUS if X is the candidate. If that happened, 0bama will be ushered back into office with a resounding "mandate". The current incompetent-in-chief could take 60%+ of the popular vote (and 450+ electoral votes).

There is no possible way Romney could be as bad for the country as BHO - even if he tried to screw it up. It will be an all-out tragedy for future generations if we let Barry stay another 4 years because "the GOP didn't go for my favorite guy/gal". Use maalox ... I'll probably have to ... but I'll have to be dead not to vote against BHO.

Grow up ... so our grandkids have a chance to.

You darned right I'll get involved. There is no way in hell I'm going allow this Muzzie/Commie to be reelected if there's ANYTHING I can do about it.

I'll walk over hot coals to vote against Obama.

I will be voting, and from the top of the ticket down. Barack Obama is in no way worthy of the office he holds and needs to be sent away. I will have no part in giving him another four years to destroy my country any further.

>>...There will be NO holding my nose and voting for Romney...<<

I understand the frustration. So don’t vote “for” [whoever it is], instead vote “against” Obama.

I doubt Karl Rove and the Establishment has mesmerized you. You know Rove’s game. You know better than to buy what he’s pushing. At least I hope you do.

Here’s the hard, cold, really screwed-up fact: I doubt Rove can convince anyone who knows him like we do. If folks choose to side with Rove’s preferred pick, it’s because they want to. As much as I wish everyone was a freeper, we are probably *not* in the majority. Yet. I hope that changes.

If Romney is the nominee, it won’t be becasue Rove and the Establishment went around the country holding each voter at gunpoint until they check the box for Romney. In other words, Rove is a gas-bag and to him it’s all about the game, not necessarily what’s best for the country. But even Rove can’t falsify enough votes to get Romney the nomination on his own. He needs the electorate to either actually vote for Romney *or* get the vote counts so bloody close that an easily manufactured 8 votes will give Romney the nod.

Rove is a jerk. But our true problem is a lack of tea-party minded, conservative voters. If Romney gets the nod, it will be because we (the voters) voted for that greasy politi-slut. If the majority of voters select Romney in the primary, then that’s the way the system is supposed to work. We just need to grow more tea-party conservatives for next time. That is *our* job.

For a lot of folks this has turned emotional. Perhaps that is your situation. As for me, I’m looking at it as rationally as I can. In the primary, it’s “anyone but Romney”. In the general, it will be “anyone but Obama”. I will vote primarily to keep Obama from any possibility of nominating any more SCOTUS justices. I don’t care who the GOP candidate is at that point.

I can empathize with your point of view. I just can’t agree with it.

Perhaps not, but it’s a risk worth taking IMO.

Foolish and bad measures such as Obamacare? Attacking Libya? Additional $4T in debt? The list is long.

A risk is like a gamble. It’s based on unknowable variants. The great thing about Romney AND Obama is that both of them have very clear records on a number of issues, judges being only one of them.

It is NOT a risk. It is not a gamble. Romneys’ record tells us exactly the kind of judge that he would put on federal benches. No, they are not any better than Obamas’.

Please, please do not give me that lame bull-squeeze about how a G.O.P. controlled senate will force him to veer to the right on issues including judgships. We were told the same garbage about that squish from Crawford regarding spending and a G.O.P. congress.

That stove is hot, I don’t need to touch it twice in order to make sure.

“So what do you want?”

I want a conservative nominee. In order; Santorum, Gingrich, Perry.

The rest are not conservatives and need not apply for my vote because there is no way in hell they get it.

Yep, I understand what you’re sayin’, but to me that’s exactly what Rove & Co. are banking on - that we will have no where else to go; therefore, we’ll be forced to vote for Romney. That’s their strategy. Get Romney nominated and then they have us backed in a corner. Nope. Ain’t buyin’ and will not vote for Romney. Frankly, as much as it pains me to say this, I don’t care if Obama gets back in, that will be on Rove and the Establsihment’s heads.

It’s time to make a stand and force these RINOs out! They are as bad as Liberals, maybe worse because they promise one thing and do the exact opposite. They LOVE to please the NYTimes at the expense of Conservatives.

Eight years of RINO Romney who will eagerly bash Conservatives in the teeth over and over again? No thanks. I’ll take my chances with Obama and a Republican Senate and House.
