Home after commiserating with customerswho don’t have money any more than I do...
I hope that the present reality
Is the dystopia of next year-
And every novel recounting it
Will bring us all some cheer
As we remember our wretched years
Under Carter and Obama as hell
And we see our goods and services
Once more begin to sell
And as little by little we climb
From the pit of down and broke-
Let’s remember not to be fooled again
By some huckster’s mirrors and smoke
And now I’ve given myself an earworm-”And I get on my knees and pray-we don’t get fooled again”...
“School district raise taxes well over the limit”
The school district out here did that a few years ago and were smacked down-and it needs to happen again because they don’t understand “NO-property values are down, and so do taxes need to be.” They don’t learn...
I was looking at your pictures of Mesdames McCain and Ginrich-McCain’s hair is the same icy color, but it is not glued in place like Callista’s-her hair/helmet reminds me of that old punk song by the Skunks-the spray you wear makes your hair look frozen-I seem to remember that most of the rest of that song is rated “R”, and so not to be reprinted here...
right on! A+++
small towns, it was the assessor they had...she was on the opposite side of the political spectrum. still is. she just no longer has any power. they brought in a professional after her, he was shocked she got away with it. so were the other assessors we consulted who told us it was illegal.
The President's supporters are doing some novel recounting of the unemployment figures.
It should be an easy thing to calculate. They know how much money rolls in every week from every employed person in the country.
Somehow, though, they seem to lose track of certain details, like the fact that they just had a knock-down and drag-out over extending unemployment benefits again-n-n-n-n-n-n.
And how important it was for only those who were employed to have to pay less into Social Security so that their savings would boost the economy. (Never minding that Social Security is thus allowed to deflate even faster.)
Well, the claim is that figures don't lie, but the reality is that the liars are doing the figuring.
Thank you!
Those figures likely won’t look so good next month when all the temp workers go refile for benefits-numbers can be cooked to show anything you want, but not forever.
Amen. Retails stores are empty again, they won’t need those workers. So are restaurants. It’s pretty bad here. The only store doing a big biz is Target. I still can’t park anywhere near the entrance there.
Happily, there are no chain retail stores here, or we’d be in worse shape for job loss than we are. The only chain thing here is a Thousand Trails RV park that caters to summer people and snowbirds and has tourist trap shops, cabins and clubhouse, tame deer and ducks, etc .
Under normal circumstances, it is the only thing resembling a large employer here and is packed with tourists year round, but now it has let all but 8 people go because it is empty. High gas prices and no jobs up north means no snowbirds and RVs-actually no tourists, period. We are so dead that a general store-type business that had been open on the corner going to Thousand Trails for nearly 30 years closed last month. We are stagnant until we get a regime change in DC, lower gas prices and more private sector jobs in the northern states so the people can afford a winter vacation here. Then people in Texas can also afford a summer house up here again, and I’ll have real work like I did before Obama’s ruinous economy...
Distopia.
Datopia.
De other topia.
Whatever ... None of them are ever gonna become a utopia - Despite what the democrat-socialist want to you to believe and them to propagandize.
