White House Threw Secret 'Alice in Wonderland' Bash During Recession
NYPost ^ | 1-8-12 | MICHAEL GARTLAND and CYNTHIA R. FAGEN

It was the tea party the Obamas just couldn’t resist.

A White House “Alice in Wonderland” costume ball — put on by Johnny Depp and Hollywood director Tim Burton — proved to be a Mad-as-a-Hatter idea that was never made public for fear of a political backlash during hard economic times, according to a new tell-all.

“The Obamas,” by New York Times correspondent Jodi Kantor, tells of the first Halloween party the first couple feted at the White House in 2009. It was so over the top that “Star Wars” creator George Lucas sent the original Chewbacca to mingle with invited guests.

The book reveals how any official announcement of the glittering affair — coming at a time when Tea Party activists and voters furious over the lagging economy, 10-percent unemployment rate, bank bailouts and Obama’s health-care plan were staging protests — quickly vanished down the rabbit hole.

“White House officials were so nervous about how a splashy, Hollywood-esque party would look to jobless Americans — or their representatives in Congress, who would soon vote on health care — that the event was not discussed publicly and Burton’s and Depp’s contributions went unacknowledged,” the book says.

However, the White House made certain that more humble Halloween festivities earlier that day — for thousands of Washington-area schoolkids — were well reported by the press corps.

Then the Obamas went inside, where an invitation-only affair for children of military personnel and White House administrators unfolded in the East Room.

Unbeknownst to reporters, the State Dining Room had also been transformed into a secretive White House Wonderland.

Disgusting. Democrats are the party of party. The White House is Animal House X 20. They are a terrible example for the youth of our country and a slap in the face to our military. I remember W getting criticized for having another one of those boring barbecues.

I know Governor and Mrs Perry would blend Reagan-like dignity with their own brand of respect for America and cleanse the White House of this party atmosphere. I am so anxious to restore everything these guys have touched. I wouldn’t mind having a horse in the in back of the White House rather than an organic garden. :)

I thought that was why some of the elites didn’t like W because he Did NOT throw lavish parties like this........ I can only guess at the antics we will hear about several years too late when Barry and Moochelle have left Washington. I wonder if BO gets to eat Filet Mignon before he jets off to Hawaii??

President Obama’s Halloween Message

White House, October 31, 2011

Good morning.

Nearly 500 years ago, the people of Scotland set aside this evening as All-Hallows-Even, that is, the night before All Hallows Day. Since then, the ancestors of Americans have looked for inspiration in the giving and receiving of treats on this night.

Americans have long enjoyed dressing up in festive costumes at parties or to usher children from door to door to “trick or treat”. Nothing could be more American!

We honor this tradition that reminds us how spreading wealth raises the prospects of families who are struggling in these hard times.

The simple message shines like a beacon in then night: to each according to his or her need from those who have more than enough.

That is why Americans who have done well, myself included, should be able to chip in a little bit so that those with empty bags might be satisfied.

While only a few American’s are active in a coven, or choose to take part in Wiccan midnight rituals, or form rock circles or pentagrams in praising our Mother Earth, we can all join in sympathy with the values of receiving as much free treats possible in the generous spirit of Halloween!

It’s going to take bold and immediate action to confront this economic crisis that we face. That’s why I’m committed to transform America into a place where more of us enjoy the wealth that has for too long been horded by the top one percent.

Earlier this year, I announced my National Health Care and Economic Recovery Plan that will provide low or no cost care to everyone who asks while at the same time reducing the deficit and costs over all! Our plan will create or save 7.5 million new jobs, reduce the sea level and carbon emissions while making the investments we need to fuel long-term economic growth, stability and a greener planet.

But this Halloween, we are reminded that the renewal of our economy won’t come from policies and plans alone - it will take the hard work, innovation, dedication to the cause of re-distribution, and strength of the American people.

Like returning home from a costume party, it will mean taking off the masks that have hidden our true potential.

It is a testament to our national character that so many Americans this Halloween are giving away treats to any child who asks. None will be left empty bagged. It is this spirit that binds us together as one American family - the belief that we rise and fall as one people; that we want that American Dream not just for ourselves, but for each other.

That’s the spirit we must summon with powerful incantations as we make a new beginning for our nation. Times are tough. There are difficult months ahead. But we can transform our nation into a place we can all be proud of.

So this evening - with one heart, and one voice, the American people can give thanks to God, — Gaia, Thor, Anubis or what ever male or female deity or higher power you may worship — that a new and brighter day is yet to come.

Thank you and may God Bless America!

clinton and gore did same thing, only
it was kept secret because either that day
or one or two before, american soldiers had
been dragged through streets of somalia
and clintons thought it would look bad.
stephanopoulos made sure reporters were not
allowed. and reporters agreed. clinton and
gore wore velvet knee breeches as founding fathers
and other guests wore opulent costumes. never been
called on it.

We’ve Landed in Alice’s Wonderland

By Mark Hyman on 3.12.10/ American Spectator:

“There exists in Washington, D.C., today, a political climate that considers business evil, hard work to be without virtue, and individual liberty and freedom a plague that must be eliminated.

Time after time, government bureaucrats, politicians, academia, major news organizations and the cultural elite demonstrate themselves to be out of step and out of touch with the American people and their values.

Consider the following juxtapositions.” http://spectator.org/archives/2010/03/12/weve-landed-in-alices-wonderla

“During recession”? We are and have been in a deep depression and only liars and figures that are lying say otherwise.

And Bush retired to his private Quarters to spend time with his wife and read.

On top of that he gave up golf because in a time of war, it wasn't proper or right in his mind.

Then they visited wounded Vets quitely without fan-fare.

Behavior of the Obama's is so revolting I need duct tape around my head, agghhh!

...and the media helped keep this a secret.

Another world leader had the need to keep secrets too (wasn't someone supposed to be the most transparent president ever?):

Paula Hitler (Hitler's sister)

When Hitler rose to power in Germany and Europe, he made Paula change her name from Paula Hitler to Paula Wolff - Wolff was Adolf Hitler's nickname. She later told:

"The first time that my brother suggested my changing my name was at the Olympic Games in Garmisch. He wanted me to live under the name of Wolff, and maintain the strictest incognito. That was sufficient for me. From then on I kept this name. I added the Mrs. as I thought that less conspicuous."

The most amazing part to me is that the Media was in a conspiracy of silence.

The whole Media. Not one word got out from anyone, including Fox, and they had to know.

Certainly a Free Press is necessary in a Free Country, but we do not have a Free Press. We have a Propaganda agency that would rival anything Joe Goebbel’s put together.

The big illusion about the Press is that they are about what they talk about. They are no such thing. They are about what they DON'T talk about, and what they DON'T let out.

Anybody can report something. But it takes true train professionals to make sure something DOESN'T get reported - especially the right things, for the right people... at the end of the day.

And that's the REAL reason why the MSM sees bloggers as amateurs.

From article:

“ ‘The relationship between a black man and his barber is sacred,’ Obama bellowed."

Too bad he doesn't have the same degree of reverence for the Constitition.
