The Advocate, an LGBT magazine, has released a list of what it says are the "gayest" cities in the U.S.
The equation breakdown used is a bit different from what you may have expected. The magazine takes into account such parameters as LGBT bookstores and "International Mr. Leather competition semifinalists" among the nine criteria used to compile the list.

Fort Lauderdale Beach has changed dramatically over the years. From a Spring Break destination to a combo if upscale properties mixed with smaller gay-friendly motels.

Salt Lake City is the gayest city in America?
San Francisco doesnt even make the list of the top 5?
This reminds me, I missed last years International Mr. Leather competition. Did I miss anything important?
A small city with a lot of gay people is more gay than a large with the same number of gay gay people.

When they say “gayest”.......maybe they mean “happiest”? Salt Lake has 2 GREAT Bars downtown. ‘Squatters’ and the ‘Red Rock’. Both places are Breweries. Salt Lake is a really nice town. Never saw anything “gay” there, except happiness and great food...... :>

Cambridge, Mass does have a larger than usual number of gays, but not nearly as many as San Francisco. Instead, it's filled with students (the clean-looking ones are mostly from MIT, the grungier ones, from Harvard), deteriorating hippies, impossibly filthy street beggars, nervous-looking Asians, Indians and Pakistanis (nervous because they own all the stores, have to carry cash and can't carry guns), and well, yes: butch-looking overweight young women with short dyed hair and ugly clothes.
But there are some really good restaurants along Mass. Ave. between Central Square and Harvard. And I do love the looks I get when I park possibly the only SUV within ten square miles on the street with my anti-Obama and pro-gun bumper stickers.

TRANSLATION: We stacked the deck until we came up with a way to keep San Francisco out, and embarass a conservative city in a conservative state! Right...just a juvenile attempt to smear a Utah city because of the Mormon Church's role against gay marriage.
