The Advocate, an LGBT magazine, has released a list of what it says are the "gayest" cities in the U.S.

The equation breakdown used is a bit different from what you may have expected. The magazine takes into account such parameters as LGBT bookstores and "International Mr. Leather competition semifinalists" among the nine criteria used to compile the list.

I just looked up the HIV per capita and CDC has

The Top 5 American Cities With the Highest Rate of AIDS Per Capita
City Rate 2008 Rate 2004 Percent Change
1 Miami, FL 42.8 per 100,000 53.8 per 100,000 - 20.446 %
2 Baton Rouge, LA 40.0 per 100,000 35.0 per 100,000 + 19.714 %
3 New Orleans, LA 32.4 per 100,000 31.9 per 100,000 + 1.567 %
4 Baltimore, MD 32.3 per 100,000 32.8 per 100,000 - 1.524 %
5 Jacksonville, FL 26.9 per 100,000 29.9 per 100,000 - 10.033 %

Who knows. Maybe that’s an indicator.

San Francisco doesn’t even make the list of the top 5?

Didn't even make the top 15!

If Philthydelphia didn’t make the list, it should have.

You wonder about the criteria used in this study.

For example, San Francisco has among the strongest anti-homosexual discrimination local laws in the country. Their health insurance pays for sex change operations for city employees. Those sorts of things have to count for something in finding “gay” friendly places, doesn’t it????

And why do they award points to cities with WNBA teams? Isn’t the WNBA simply a basketball league for women players? What exactly are they implying about the women players? Or the fans of such teams? How is women’s basketball somehow a “gay” friendly indicator?

is that paper owned by the NYT? That could be why they are pushing the all homosexual all the time issues.

Besides, the homosexuals have to rig the criteria since a supermajority of states have outlawed homosexual based marriages.

Maybe they considered SF “too gay” to allow other competition.

From the US 2010 Census:

Reported 34,000 same sex “married” couples in San Francisco.

Reported 5,800 same sex “married” couples in Salt Lake City.

You do the math.

I don’t do the link thingie, but I’m surprised that Palm Sproings isn’t right at the top — it’s already surpassed San Francisco.

I cannot believe Washington DC did not make the list.

There are more Homo’s in Washington DC than there are stars in the sky.

Austin, Texas--the gayest city in the Southwest.

As we say here in Texas: Austin, the San Francisco of the south! I travel to Austin for business and other than seeing many great buildings and being in the history of Texas, I try to get the hell out of there as quickly as possible!

I have heard that 6th Street is the place to be, but to me I think that it is the place to AVOID!

Let's just cut to the chase and give it to the city with the most cases of AIDS.

This is a faux list designed to imply more homosexuals where few may exist. IOW “see the homosexuals need a special protectionh law because this city is on the ‘list’”.

They newpaper homosexual starts with a list and then decides what the members of the list have in common. Presto instant political agenda.

As for the wnba, i think this just confirms the wnba was never about basketball or even sports, it was and is a pay off to shut up female homosexual nannystaters.

[ TRANSLATION: We stacked the deck until we came up with a way to keep San Francisco out, and embarass a conservative city in a conservative state!

Right...just a juvenile attempt to smear a Utah city because of the Mormon Church’s role against gay marriage. ]

It is, but it will be used by the Mormon haters here on the FR to blame the mormons for taking all the womenfolk through polygamous marriages in SLC leaving no womenfolk left so the men are turning gay due to a policy 99.9% of mormons don’t follow or endorse.

One need only view the public images that were captured at the Folsum Street Fair in San Francisco, to determine where such a demonic urban area should rate, in regards to this highly subjective list of fag friendly cities.

W A R N I N G

The report you are about to view of the 2007 Folsom Street Fair in San Francisco contains newsworthy images of people engaged in sexual behavior in public. Although these images are not intended to be pornographic, some people may regard them as such. Because of this, only adults age 18 or over may view the images on the following page. By clicking on the button below, you agree that:

- You are at least 18 years old, and are legally regarded as an adult in the jurisdiction where you reside;

- You have consented to view images that you know to be sexual in nature;

- You are not easily offended by nudity and sexual situations, and will not later claim that you weren't sufficiently warned;

- You are viewing these images of your own volition having received due notice.

International Mr. Leather competition semifinalists"

The Gay Left throws fits any time a conservative criticizes gay people as being sex-focused, immature hedonists, yet a flagship Gay publication uses "Mr. Leather" as a criteria to determine the "gayest" city in America. If gay people don't want to be stereotyped, stop doing things that play into the stereotype.

NYC, SF, Key West, Provincetown...all are far more infected with the sodomite lifestyle than Seattle or Salt Lake.
