I am interested in self-publishing on Kindle. Eventually I would like to publish a book but first I want to publish articles via Kindle of just 500 to 1000 words each. I would like to make the articles available for FREE to the public. This is to familiarize the general public with my humor and would be great publicity for my book.
So what I want to know is if it is okay to publish stuff on Kindle that would be available to the public for FREE. Also is there some sort of Kindle index in which such articles would be listed?

ANY information you can provide here on the subject of Kindle self-publishing would be greatly appreciated. Thanx in advance.

I'm old enough to recall when a man and woman could NOT be shown in a bed together, even clothed. I also recall that 4-letter words were impermissable, and that ALL sex-related products were not allowed to be advertised.
We've sure come a long way......towards the abyss.

https://kdp.amazon.com/self-publishing try this link and see if it helps. I publish on Kindle too. It seems to be the fastest way to get your work out in the public domain. And it is the fastest growing area of publishing now.

I think you accidently took the wrong fork in the road. The FCC thread was two exits back.

You might talk to authors in the writers forums at mobileread.com that is probably the largest site dedicated to ereaders, and you could probably find the answers to most of your questions in old threads.
Great bunch of writers over there, including some very well known science fiction authors.

There are plenty of free publications on Kindle, so it has to be possible.
Amazon also offers CreateSpace, which lets you do electronic (I believe) and on-demand digital printing, where you can set the prices to anything you want (as long as you at least cover costs on print items).

PJ, you may want to check the link in post #14 from Sgt_Schultze, it’s a Kindle book, on how to publish for the Kindle, that’s free for the download.

Okay but I want to know if they permit publishing on Kindle that would be available to the public for FREE. Specifically articles of about 500 to 1000 words in length. Eventually I would like to publish a book for which the public would pay for but first the FREE articles.
