In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of "Word for the Day".
paregmenon \puh-REG-muh-non\ , noun
The juxtaposition of words that have a common derivation, as in sense and sensibility.
Although as artificial as his use of traductio, this use of paregmenon at least reveals Sidney's ingenuity and wit.
-- Sherod M. Cooper, The Sonnets of Astrophel and Stella
The recurrence of the same word with a different inflection, as in the polyptoton, or of different words of the same origin, as in the paregmenon, draws attention to the word thus recurring, and adds somewhat to its logical worth.
-- Josiah Willard Gibbs, Philological Studies with English Illustrations
Paregmenon comes from the Greek word parēēgménon meaning "to bring side by side or derive."
The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-)

Great thread. Love the twitter handles.
Attention whore pastor.
yeah, i'm sure that's as God intended also... RME>
you are an unbelievable tool... ; )
I figure God already had a steady stream of the pastor’s sad life. Why should we suffer?
Now there’s a weird word-
Can I find a paregmenon or two
To define Obama and the group
Of cronies in his social circle
And those in his socialist troop
Those on the ‘rat plantation
Happy to be a democrat party slave
Paid for their slavish devotion
From the cradle to the grave
With feelings no more intense
Than their masters deign to stoke
And intensify every few years
To turn their servitude into a joke
Is that okay?
That’ll do. A+ for you!
It is in the mid-40’s and cloudy here-really depressing. The sun was out earlier, but n ow all is gray with a cold little north wind to chill-I’m here in the kitchen with my hands around a hot cup of chicken bouillon...
We’re getting winter coming back tonight. It was near 50 today, it will be in the teens tomorrow. Rain changing to snow overnight for an icy, slippery commute.
We’ve had flurries since mid afternoon so of course they called off school for tomorrow. They are suspecting icy patches in the rural areas and it isn’t supposed to get above 30 tomorrow. Feels like 16 out there now.
To my daughter’s disappointment, they didn’t cancel or even delay school today. We didn’t get an ice coating under the snow, and only had a dusting of the stuff, so far. Darn cold though, at 18 degrees with winds at 30-40 mph.
We have the same weather as you today! That bitterly cold wind rips right through you.
