Neat infographic on Bill Gates from Frugal Dad. Since 2007 Gates has given away 48% of his net worth, or $28 billion, which has helped save 6 million lives. It takes a second for the graphic to load.

This IS getting a little old.

He and Bluffett are two of the biggest BS artists in the world. Their wealth is in realized but as yet untaxable gains. The money they are “donating” is really all money that would go to taxes if they tried to convert these assets to cash. All they are doing is giving the money away so it can be spent the way they want, instead of into the government's hands so it can be spent the way the government wants.

I wouldn't really care except both of these dillholes have been in they arguing how the rest of us should be happy to give the government a bigger percentage of our money.

My response: You first - and a loud raspberry sound (which I don't know how to spell).

Living in the US is the greatest piece of “charity” one ever needs. Gates is spending his money saving the lives of people without clean water, plumbing or FOOD.

Good for him.
He’s free so spend HIS OWN money as he wishes. As it shoudl be.

While I admire what Gates is doing, you have to administer aid in such a fashion that it won’t wind up putting local doctors and farmers out of work.

His foundation doesn’t donate to causes in developed countries. I think he’s an ass for that.

If Billy would give me just one of his billions, I promise to use half of it to “save the world”.

Gates is darned near perfect. If he would publicly oppose abortion as a handy remedy for the consequence of rampant recreational sex, he could make the world an even better place.

“His foundation doesn’t donate to causes in developed countries. I think he’s an ass for that.”

I understand why you would be so offended by Gates’ refusal to donate billions to developed countries. However, we do live in a capitalist society and you have the freedom to counter balance the Gates’ donations by opening your checkbook and writing a check for $28 billion to your favorite causes in developed countries.

What does capitalism have to do with it?

Developed countries send their money to him and this leftist, elitist dork believes he is too altruistic to use any of his money to address ANY problems in developed countries.

Was just discussing w/hubby how lucky we are that we were born in the USA. No matter how bad we ‘think’ it is...we’re still a whole lot better off than many people around the world. Where you are born is fate. How you become successful in the land of planty is thru hard work, prayer and a touch of good luck.

I cannot fault the Gate’s family for spending their good fortune to help those who are less fortunate.
