Word has it that Mr. Herman Cain, a strong conservative presidential candidate incessantly attacked by the national media, the DNC and the RINO Establishment slime machine, is in a position now to endorse in pivotal South Carolina prior to its presidential primary.
The problem is, some indications are coming out that such an endorsement, while "unconventional" may be going to Mitt Romney, the worst possible choice for the Republicans in 2012 and certainly no conservative, easily beatable by Barack Obama in November. Sucn an endorsement would be highly inadvisable. Many of us, former 2012 Cain supporters, volunteers and donors say this in unison and with passion.
Willard is NOT a Fair Tax guy. That’s Cain’s passion to revive the economy. As it was Huck’s in ‘08 and now but moreso.
I really think Cain endorses Newt but is waiting for AFTER SC for some dumb reason.
In that “Lincoln/Douglas debate” it sure looked like Cain and Newt hit it off famously. I’d be surprised if Herman went for Mitt, although he may be angling for a cabinet position!

Herman made it pretty clear on Sean that he wouldn’t be endorsing any individual but instead it would be an idea (or set of ideas) and a movement. He said he’s still dedicated to defeating BHO, and I’ve gotta think he’d never endorse Mittens over Newt - unless that’s the nominee and he said he’d support ANY nominee running against BHO.
That’s impossible. Cain wants to be Romney’s vp. Just ask anyone of his detractors.

I’m going to reserve judgement and participation until his endorsement.
I figure I owe it to him, to at least give him a chance to speak first rather then engage in speculation.
Perhaps he thinks it's too late to get the biggest bang out of his endorsement for SC and he wants his endorsement too appear as if it made a difference.
OR
He feels Florida will be a more important time for Newt to receive such an endorsement.

With Huntsman dropping out Perry will soon own last place, the only remaining candidate in single digits. Is Perry smart enough to drop out also? Probably not.
That is NOT TRUE. Cain has no plans to endorse ANYONE in this race.
I know there's virtually no chance that the American people will start to think for themselves and give Perry a second look. I know that but I'm disappointed because I think Perry is the only one I'd trust to do what he says. The only one I trust to defeat Obamacare and trim goverment in a substantial way. It's so sad that we choose our elected officials by debates or sound bites and not look at their record, their actual accomplishments.
All that said, Perry isn't hurting Newt or helping Romney, Paul and Santorum are. That's the way the game's played though so not much to be done. Wait and see I guess.

To prove he is not planning to endorse Romney, here is what Hermean Cain wrote today:
I have been hounded in media interviews to give them the scoop on which Republican presidential candidate I ‘m going to endorse. When I respond that it will be “unconventional,” they go nuts because they cannot conceive of what that means. That’s not the way they think.
So they try to guess what it means based on conventional political practice. You will be endorsing yourself getting back into the presidential race, they guess. Nope. You will be endorsing someone that’s not in the race, they suggest. Nope. You will be endorsing two of the remaining candidates instead of one. No again.
I was an unconventional Republican presidential primary candidate who ran an unconventional political campaign, and achieved unexpected results before I ended my quest for the position of president. Most of the people interviewing me did not get it. Namely, it wasn’t about the position as much as it is about the mission. I am still on a mission to help defeat President Obama, and to make the “9-9-9 Economic Growth and Jobs Plan” the law of the land.
An unconventional endorsement is part of a bigger message. It can also be two-dimensional, a specific candidate and a specific cause. We already know the specific cause. I’m still looking for the right candidate to “adopt” the 9-9-9 plan. If that does not happen, the cause will still be part of a bigger endorsement message, which is to make sure we defeat President Obama in 2012, and that we transfer power out of Washington and back to the people.
Besides, I’m not convinced that one-dimensional endorsements make that big a difference in the outcome of how people vote. They probably do to some extent, but in today’s political climate most of them are not game-changers.
I want to change how voters think about candidates, not in terms of their media-focused flyspecked negatives, but to think of them in terms of their positives and their relevant experiences. I also want to change how voters think about solutions to our national crises.
Namely, stop accepting the usual political rhetoric of “what’s wrong,” because most of us already know what’s wrong. We also know that there is more than enough blame to go around for how we got so screwed up as a country. I want voters to focus on how candidates are going to fix stuff
I want people to focus on real solutions and real leadership.
I know that’s unconventional political and media thinking, but the conventional thinking, the conventional approach, the conventional compromises, the conventional promises, the conventional rhetoric and the conventional endorsements are not going to save this great country.
We need a Solutions Revolution.
We can’t just think outside the box, as the saying goes. We must redesign the box and fill the box with what the people want, not what the political class and the media class want.
We want our power back.
That’s unconventional.

I voted for you in the FL straw poll in Orlando, and was part of your campaign in FL - now I’m hearing rumors you’re about to endorse Romney?? Please don’t totally disillusion me against politics by so blatantly selling out your principles to endorse the GOP establishment chosen one. You could’ve won this thing.
not I...if the last assuser whom sounded level headed were a liar, seems like the right thing to have done is sue her and stay in the race. He seems quite guilty to me and many others. Those 4am phone records don’t help either.
If you’re right, that answers the question of why Herman would start a new “grassroots” movement when the Tea Party already fills that void. Instead of trying to win over the TEA Party, maybe the establishment will try to marginalize it with a movement of their own. Maybe they think we’ll get excited again and join their new group.
That’s the worst-case scenario, of course. I’d like to believe that Herman is above such reprehensible conduct. If he comes out for Romney, however, I will lose all respect for him.
I sent an email to Herman’s staff expressing my opinion of Mitt Romney and urging him to do the right thing. I doubt it’ll make a difference, but at least I’ve said my piece.
