At least this forced Obama to take the side he would have taken anyway and not allowed him to play both sides during election season. As it was he was just doing a slow-motion refusal while pretending that he might approve it later.

Expect the Canadians to start building a pipeline to their west coast to export the oil to China now. It was reported on some program I was listening to this morning that Harper said the US could try to make a National Park out of this country, but that wasn't going to apply to Canada.
Don't have a reference; I was just amused when this was reported.
