After listening to Governor Rick Perry on the Sean Hannity Show, I couldn't help but be blown away by his good nature. What a great guy. You can hear in his voice how he has managed to keep his eye on a goal while working with others to achieve it. His respect for his political foes and his understanding of the the whole process inspired me. Naming names and demonstrating professional links to some of his fellow candidates was generous and kind. I'm going to continue to support Governor Perry but I would never encourage him to drop out. He adds too much to the overall debate to just be gone. I disagree with Jim on that issue. I will, however, take Jim's advice and calm down my criticism of other candidates. Governor Perry said they were all good people and I'll take his word for it. May the best man win. Donate to FReeRepublic.

I would support Perry, if he’d consider dropping out and returning to Texas. Not everybody can be president and it’s obvious that his support will not rise much beyond what it is at this point.

That’s not a slam against Perry, but I’d rather not have him be a reason as to why Mitt Romney becomes the Republican nominee.

I like him too. He has my support.

That said I’ll vote for any of them in the general except Ron Paul.

I want a patriot in office.

I don’t think it’s obvious at all, and, while my support for him barely rose to lukewarm at first, compared to the other guys, he’s looking good. I hope he stays in.

I have been a supporter of Rick Perry since the day he entered the presidential race.

I support Gov. Perry. This campaign has changed many times almost overnight. Not going to tear the other conservative candidates down - I think they should all stay in as long as they are able. Praying and hoping for the best - but preparing for the worst. I do think the fix is in for a Romney nomination - followed by an Obama victory. God help us.

I don't think it's our place to demand that anybody drop out. After all, they chose to enter the arena by way of hard work, financial resources, and blood, sweat, and tears. When it's time for them to throw in the towel they will do so.

I also hate the constant bashing of our candidates. I'm not interested in "helping" the other side in any way, shape, or form. Let them do their own dirty work.

I know I'm the only one who feels this way, but then that's me.

Awesome post. If you want to see what a great, down to earth, honest guy he is - watch this interview from Saturday in SC if you get a chance.

The conservatives MUST get down to one candidate if we are going to defeat the Massachusetts liberal. Perry could help conservatism and in the long run, himself by being the next to bow out for the good of the nation. Frankly, he dropped to my last conservative choice when he called me “heartless”.

I don’t see that as sarcasm. More like a statement of fact.

I’m sticking with Gov. Perry till the end. (since I find it difficult to not see the others as Beltway insiders.)

Do you really think Newt, Santorum and Paul are outside the Beltway?

“Frankly, he dropped to my last conservative choice when he called me “heartless”.”

He said he could have said it differently. Get over it. Could we just have one thread where Perry supporters can relieve themselves and discuss the good will we feel toward him and how it will translate into support of someone else if necessary. You have absolutely NO idea what “could help conservatism.” Perry dropping out is not the answer. What Governor Perry said on Hannity’s show helped conservatism immensely.

You are much too easily offended. What does that have to do with governing the USA? I am sure by now you have learned the context in which that was said and it should offend no one. Even so, he apologized for it although the apology was completely unnecessary.

I’d rather be the Governor of Texas than the President of the Unites States.

It’s interesting how Rick, Rick and Newt all have kind words for each other...and even for Jon Huntsman & Herman Cain.

I haven’t heard one of them speak kindly of Mitt.

“Perry dropping out is not the answer”

It is THE CONSERVATIVE ANSWER if he drops out tomorrow, endorses the Speaker, and Newt beats Willard the Lib by three points on Saturday.

Perry is honorable and a good man.

Perry and Santorum will both only act as spoilers to give the nomination to Romney.

Santorum won’t drop out because he is an RNC creature. Remember, he threw his support behind Spector. His sole purpose is to draw the evangelical vote.

Accordingly, since Santorum won’t do the honorable thing, as an honorable and good man, Perry should droup out to prevent Romney from getting the nod.

I hope he does not drop out.

I don’t do the drop out whine, but if anybody needs to drop out it’s Santorum.

Perry is the better man. I hope he stays in till Super Tuesday.

I don’t know why you say it’s obvious his support won’t rise.

It’s not obvious to me.

What is obvious is that Santorum and to a lesser degree Newt have the capacity to implode, and then we’ll need someone with no junk in the trunk.
