I've made a couple of comments on Marco's Facebook page recently and they vanished almost instantly.
I have a definite feeling that discussion is not permitted there.
I've been an enthusiastic Rubio supporter from the git go but I'm really pissed off right now.
What did you sat?
I must admit this election has seperated the men from the boys, so to speak. I have really been surprised at some “conservatives” We are really finding out who are friends are, aren’t we?
Rubio has always been a stooge.
Maybe it’s not about you. It’s his FB page.
Let’s all count to ten here. I think we all want Marco Rubio on our side.
IIRC, Mitt endorsed Rubio, and Rubio won. I’m not assigning causality here, but Rubio is grateful.
Newt is back in control, and most of us here think that is a good thing. So let’s be a bit more forgiving of, and less offensive to our Republican brethren.
Let’s remember Ronaldus Magnus’s 11th commandment - “Thou shalt not speak ill of thy fellow Republican”. Doing so gives the other side fodder for their bought-and-paid-for media.
Let’s band together and put the focus on the record of Baraq Obama specifically, and Liberalism in general.
Rubio is stiffing his Tea Party supporters. I hope he remembers the people who brought him to the dance. I for one donated to his campaign.
Well said.
I’ve liked what Rubio has said up til now, and am not writing him off over this. But we know the importance of examining the persons entire record, history, and positions over time. Rubio just hasn’t had enough time to be properly vetted, and we shouldn’t fall in love with a candidate just because of a few nice speeches (remember?)
Marco Rubio is great. Is there a FR term for the fact some people will enthusiastically go for any post, with zero supporting evidence?
I don’t prejudge your posts to Rubio’s FB, but with no information we already have people suggesting he is a “stooge” an insider, etc. All because his FB page may have deleted some comments.
Saw Rubio defending conservatism last night and I say Rubio for VP if not president.
I posted comments on a media outlet’s FB page last night and assumed they were wiping them.
It turns out FB was experiencing problems keeping up with the chatter last night and the posts I made ended up appearing at least 4 times.
Rubio is likely in a grey area between being establishment and being tea party. He likely wants a lengthy career in politics and has been told by the establishment if he dares to side against them, he’s done.
Decide what you will. I don’t know if he’s a bad guy or not, but I really don’t like Romney. If he chooses to side with Romney, I’ll lose a lot of respect for him and I think he’s putting his personal aspirations in front of the good of the country.
Lead headline on Drudge:
Rubio rips Newt
I’m not a huge fan of Rubio, nor or Romney, but...
I don’t think it’s fair to attack him over this. Seems to me that all he’s doing is trying to prevent damage to Romney in the event he’s the nominee, because then all this will be used against him. (Although, the argument could be made that the Democrats don’t need help; they probably already have all this stuff, and are ready to use it.)
If your goal is to elect a Republican, first and foremost, what Rubio is doing makes perfect sense.
Now, we can certain argue about whether merely electing a Republican...any Republican...should be the primary goal. It would be fair to criticize Rubio on that point, specifically.
I’ve never liked Rubio myself. Dunno why. Just something about him strikes me as someone who’s easily influenced / gullible.
I must admit this election has seperated the men from the boys, so to speak. I have really been surprised at some conservatives We are really finding out who are friends are, arent we?
The line has been drawn in the sand. Their is no more room for the fence sitters. It is time to choose.
Light or darkness
Good or evil
The Prince of Peace or the prince of the world.
It’s rather stunning, is’nt it??
if you or the establishment think many of us will come together for Romney then think again.
Many of us here and myself will never vote or support Romney
that liberal rag you posted is a lying sack of crap
Rubio was ion TV this morning and never attacked Newt at all.
He said he will not endorse either and he will let us the people of FL vote and choose.
This is another tactic RINO Romney and the establishment and the Dem MSM are using to take Newt out as they know Newt calls a spade a spade and has fire in him enough to pick a fight with their messiah unlike RINO Romney who can’t even call socialism socialism and now has had his advisers on record say he supports a VAT, OBAMACARE etc
” Rubio has always been a stooge. “
I have posted nothing but the same, and until today have never seen a comment on FR that was anything but positive for Rubio, as if his rise was his own. The Bush machine groomed the boy and like Obama, his charm and voice was/is/remains an investment in consolidating their power among the elites.
Slicker candidates are openly lying to us by now, following Obama’s lead, and the machines that are backing them appear to be silent, but are far from asleep. There is a Bush machine on silent running and Rubio is their favorite son, whom they have/are grooming for bigger things, the same as Obama was groomed for puppet purposes.
That’s why I believe Newt’s peculiarlarities work to OUR advantage. His volitility, unpredictability, warts, flaws and faults and fabled “temper”, make him quite uncontrollable, an enemy to the Left and to the Establishment, and he is way past being fodder for grooming, while even the thought of ever being “handled” is out of the question. Squeezing Newt never quite killed him off, did it? LOL!
“...strikes me as someone whos easily influenced / gullible.”
As opposed to who else?
As opposed to Newt. Newt is genetically his own man, which we owe to his faults, etc., making him unsuitable to handle unless is at your peril. :)

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
I didn’t say that at all.
First, in regards to Romney, “not speaking ill” does not equate to “vote or support”.
Second, I was referring much more to Rubio. I don’t think he and his constituency are people that any of us, at this point, want to alienate.
Don’t let the perfect be the enemy of the good.
Newt was out of line! Newt also gets back to his class warfare obama sound bit with his stupid Cayman Island and 20 million dollar accounts. Why is Newt going there!!!
I was very enthusiastically for Rubio when he was running for Sentate. But since then I’ve cooled off a little. He’s a republican but probably not a tea party republican. I hope he is smart enough to realize he is not eligible to be VP or POTUS and does not agree to run if asked. The law suits would begin immediately and it would be a fiasco throughout the campaign and likely assist Obama in getting re-elected.

I fear that his suspected ineligibility has been “taken care of”. The Jeb machine would not permit him to toy with the idea of VP, as he most certainly has done, if in four to eight more years he can run for the big chair. Of course, I may be wrong but Rubio is smart and articulate and leaves little doubt that he is able to do whatever he wishes to do, but I may be getting a little over the top conspiratorial for the first time. The Ulsterman Report, “California” didn’t help! LOL. :)
Not everyone here has that as a goal.
Look, we’re going on a ride with Newt. His bizarre rabbit trails are going to drive us crazy, but his peculiarities are also exactly why the Establishment can not control him, and why his unpredictability keeps him out of the clutches of nefarious control freaks who are now running in large packs in DC, propping up Romney. They are on the Left and the Right.
There is no doubt in my mind that the Republicans conspired with Democrats and a willing MSM in the 2008 election to simply overide the constitution and let an ineligible candidate run for office. Now that the precedent has been set the pubbies hope to run their own ineligible candidates such as Bobby Jindal and Marco Rubio. It needs to be stopped.
You do have a point. Seems the Democrats in Congress are committed to Marxism, while the Republicans are outrageously committed to stupidity alone, or are they?.
It’s obvious by now that Republican Establishment either collectively believe really in nothing much beyond keeping their jobs, taking the senate with more RINOS, and regaining the power of the purse, or they’re facilitating their own preferences for socialism, which they are seldom seen fighting against with any vigor whatsoever. Newt must threaten their stupidity or their dark side, and Romney threatens neither. %:)
I have a feeling they are coming to the same conclusion, and probably have a larger population.
I don't hold my tongue and I refuse to be intimidated.
They all put their pants on one leg at a time just like I do.
Talk is cheap, actions count!
I've supported Marco a lot considering my financial limits. There is no damned reason to have a website if I can't go there, ask questions and state my opinion.
Hell, I will even argue with John Thompson if I see a need!
I think I have a right to know what standards Marco's opinion is based on.
I'm not a mushroom, I won't sit in the dark and live on crap!
I’m not writing him off either but when someone expresses an opinion I want to hear the reasons.
The Tea Party Florida elected Rubio and West will NOT discuss the NBC of Barry Soetoro publicly. They are muzzled like the rest of the 533 CONcritters and Nine black robed judges, States and Municipality officials!!!
Everyone has to remember Romney actually went to Florida in 2010 and supported Rubio over Crist in the primary. So Rubio is now in a position of having to return the favor.
This all just proof how much politics just plain SUCK!
Rubio is a GOP Establishment guy. The Tea Party fought against Crist so the establishment put up new establishment guy associated with Jeb.
