People have been wondering when Tim Geithner would leave Treasury almost since he started the job in the middle of a horrible financial crisis.
Now, with yesterday's news that Tim Geithner will not stay on for a second term if President Obama wins in November, we know when Geithner plans to leave.
And with that, speculation of who will replace him is inevitable.
The "grown up" at Facebook is said to be on the short-list.
She certainly represents the best of American business right now, and given her experience at Facebook almost certainly has the temperament for the job.
The unknown: how badly will she be needed in a post-IPO Facebook?
The former Clintonite's name has been floated in the past. He's respected by the business community quite a bit, and his time on the deficit commission makes him credible on one of the biggest economic issues of the day
Edward Zore is the president and CEO of Northwestern Mutual. He began his career at Northwestern while pursuing a masters degree in economics at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, working as a stock trader in the investment division.
His company, Northwestern Mutual, stands out. The firm famously has never had to lay anyone off. It didnt need TARP funding. Zore is an advisory board member of the Millstein Center for Corporate Governance and Performance at the Yale School of Management, giving him good corporate governance credentials.
Zores strongest point is probably his long years of financial experiencesomething any new Treasury Secretary will need in the age of regulatory reformwithout being tied to the bad side of Wall Stre
It might be a good idea for Obama to look beyond finance for his next Treasury Secretary.

It could be Jarvis Tyner. They should get along quite well.
I’d say Mitt Romney, but Obama would probably consider him too liberal.
