redound; verb [used without object]
1. to have a good or bad effect or result, as to the advantage or disadvantage of a person or thing. 2. to result or accrue, as to a person. 3. to come back or reflect upon a person as to honor or disgrace (usually followed by on or upon ).
Etymology: 1382, "to overflow," from O.Fr. redonder "overflow, abound" (12c.), from L. redundare "to overflow" (see redundant). Meaning "to flow or go back" (to a place or person) is from 1382; hence "to rebound" (c.1500), and "to contribute to" (the credit, honor, etc.), c.1500.
example: Thomas Hobbes Leviathan: "So that the effect which redounds to one man, by another man's defect of right, is but so much diminution of impediments to the use of his own right original."
Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the Word for the Day in a sentence.

While walking to the car, I slipped and fell on the ice Sat. and my husband fell on top of me (I was holding on to him). The effects have redounded so that I cannot walk today and can type with only one hand. My husband is just fine. Is that fair? He saya his fall was broken by a big “pillow” — namely me! When I redound from this accident, I just might redound him in the nose for such comments!
OMG! Am I sore! Nothing broken except 2 fingernails which broke right across the middle. I was on my way to sort recall petitions against my Governor. I bled all over them which is significant.

I think he will be just fine too. But we also have to worry about the 6 senators they are trying to recall to take the majority back. They only need 1 Republican to fall.
I’m working on 2 different efforts to examine the petitions for errors that can be challenged. The Republican Party is running “Victory Centers” where we are hand sorting copies of the petitions looking for obvious errors. This will be optically scanned and sorted. The Tea Party is running an independent effort where we are entering each PRINTED name and address into a data base ourselves, just as it is written. We do this work from home. We have the opportunity to note whether the signature and the printed record match.
In addition, I delivered flyers Sat. morn for 3 school board candidates who are trying to bring reason to our out of control school board. We were just leaving lunch and were on our way to a Victory Center to sort petitions when I fell. Not a convenient time.
I went ahead to cover my shift, but I bled all over the petitions. I can now claim that I bled for my Governor, that’s how much I love him.
The Republicans have 5000+ people working at the Victory Centers and the Tea Party have 11,000+ entering names in a data base that will be searched 6 ways from Sunday to expose duplicates and other errors. The Tea Party has drawn volunteers from all over the country to help in their effort. Both groups are organized so that every petition is examined by at least 3 sets of eyes.

I couldn’t attend church yesterday because of my injuries, but my husband says no letter was read. He neglected to pick up a bulletin, but he’ll stop by later in the week to check to see if it went out as a hand out.

Marquette is in Michigan. We are in Wisconsin. We do have Marquette University here in Milwaukee, but none of our several Bishops have a Diocese named Marquette. And our captal is in Madison. All those “M” words make it confusing for those who don’t live here. LOL.
And Pere Marquette did discover this part of the country.

my liberal diocese did NOT read it, nor was it in the bulletin.
Yes. My husband and I did 200 at the Victory Center, and I did about another 100-150 on line at home. (2 different efforts)
The online effort is shut down for a couple of days until they release the gubenatorial petitons for examination. We finished a Senatorial recall petition in 2 days. At least 3 sets of eyes examined each signature.
There is an amazing number of people working on this challenge.
This diocese does not have any spirit since Dolan left. But, now he’s a Cardinal, so our loss is a good cause for NYC.
