Can someone please tell me why the eff we still import ANYTHING from that cesspool known as China??
That is the problem ... the FDA is making tests that don't prove anything.
How would you respond to "We have inconclusive evidence that your job may be hurting someone ... so we think you should return your paycheck for the year"? You'd probably tell them to go fly a kite (or something a little more blunt). I know I would.
Before you ask a company to throw away $million$ of dollars; you had better to be able to conclusively show 'Why'. The FDA has failed to do this very basic task.
Linda The Dog just LOVES her Stuffed Animal Squeak Toys. She has played with them so much that they are destroyed, so now it is time for replacements. I have gone EVERYWHERE and can’t find a toy that is NOT made in china. Doesn’t ANY American Company make these any more? I REFUSE to buy ANY product made in China. Not even for my Dog who doesn’t understand world politics.
Any metal product you buy from China is likely to have irradiated metals.
ANY product you buy in China was made by slave labor in some of the most brutal conditions imaginable.
DO NOT BUY FROM CHINA.
You know that’s the problem and so do I.
But an inconclusive test just means they have not been able to identify the contaminate. Doing the wrong tests for the wrong things will give you false results.
But...the November Warning holds some brevity here. They would not have issued a warning for nothing, they just have not solved the puzzle yet.
I 100% agree with you. But, it is becoming increasingly difficult to buy anything NOT made in China.
As much as I thought Donald Trump was a jackass with this presidential bid, he was spot on when he said our loss of manufacturing to China is one of our biggest weaknesses. Not many DC types have the guts to admit that, let alone do anything about it.
Try etsy.com for handmade toys.
You can make them by hand from socks and old fleece shirts. However, the plastic ‘squeaks’ are probably made in China.
Check out thrift stores for used stuffed animals and insert the ‘squeaky’. Save some money;)
p.s. The reason dogs love to destroy them is to stop the squeaking.
I use plain old hooves. Dogs love them and they are cheap.
Indeed.
Messed up our dog big time. Pooping blood all over. This was after one or two weeks of giving them to her. On the other hand she loved them.
Wow! Thank You! What a wonderful response from my fellow FReepers!
Thank you so much for this post. We have a bag of the Waggin Train chicken jerky treats in the cupboard!!! I am usually good about checking for the “made in china” tag but missed it on these. Thankful my yorkies didn’t care for them.
We lost our cairn terrier Callie last year, fine one day and deathly ill the next. Now I wonder if it was because of something like this. :(
The melamine deal that the Chicoms sent us as a protein additive (also missed by the FDA) killed our great Pyrenees that was the best coyote deterrent we’ve ever had. Never forget the ChiComs are commies first and always.
Something Made in USA could mean that it was assembled in USA with parts made in china.
See, the jeans may have been sewn in USA, but where does the fabric come from?
It’s getting depressing.
Time to look into how our grandparents lived.
I am sorry to here about your Callie.
Return the Waggin Train treats to the store. Most stores are allowing a “credit.”
I am an owner of a pet type business and was shocked when a client last week showed off a huge box of treats they had ordered online for their 9 month old lab. Yeah...he got an earful from me.
Monday after checking into my “claims,” he apologized for his disregard. They opted to toss the chicken jerky treats out. In our area in December a family lost their dog to kidney failure and the new puppy they had just gotten is still fighting with kidney issues.
You are welcome.
It is not like the stores that sell this stuff are hanging the Warning on the shelf.
I am happy to here they didn’t like them!
