Floyd Mayweather questions Jeremy Lin (sounds like racism)
espn ^ | 2-15-12

Boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. believes that New York Knicks point guard Jeremy Lin is getting national attention because of his race, rather than his exceptional play.

"Jeremy Lin is a good player but all the hype is because he's Asian. Black players do what he does every night and don't get the same praise," Mayweather wrote on his Twitter account on Monday afternoon.

"Its OK for ESPN to give their opinion but I say something and everyone questions Floyd Mayweather," the boxer tweeted. "I'm speaking my mind on behalf of other NBA players. They are programmed to be politically correct and will be penalized if they speak up.

"Other countries get to support/cheer their athletes and everything is fine. As soon as I support Black American athletes, I get criticized."

Mayweather has drawn attention for racially insensitive remarks in the past. Mayweather went on a profanity-filled racist and homophobic rant against Manny Pacquiao in September 2010. In a video posted on UStream, Mayweather told Pacquiao, a Filipino, to "make some sushi rolls and cook some rice." He also said "we're going to cook him with some cats and dogs."

This guy clearly doesn’t want any part of getting into the ring with Manny Pacquaio.

Mayweather needs to realize the NBA is about as rigged/scripted as the WWE these days. I feel bad for people who pay to go to NBA games.

The only reason Lincoln freed the slaves was because he knew there would one day be an NBA......

Come on all you freepers know better than that. Racism is defined by that great man that freed the slaves and gave us the three day weekend. The “KING” Martin Luther somebody “I have a dream that one my children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the party on their voter registration card.”

At least that’s what I learned in public school.

Sorry, Bozo, but you've taken too many knuckles on your noggin to think straight.

Lin has scored more points (130+) in his first 5 starting games than anybody in modern NBA history.

That's worth talking about.

and don't get the same praise

Yeah, nobody talked about Shaq, or Kobe, or that Jordan fellow...

Hey Floyd, didn't you hear?

Jeremy Lin is the Affirmative Action Asian Player.

See The NBA has too many Black players and that is just too unfair.

Not to worry, Whites aren't part of the NBA Affirmative Action program due to their relatives all used to own slaves.

Stupid coming in the wake of the idolization of Michael Jordan and scores of other black players (literally too numerous to mention) of today and yesterday.

I guess he never heard of John Starks. He was loved as a Knick because 1. He was good. 2. He was an underdog. People love underdogs. He should drop the racism. It’s just plain stupid.

Sure Floyd...In Michael Jordan’s heydays, no one ever remarked on his play at all, it was ordinary...

"Jeremy Lin is a good player but all the hype is because he's Asian.

Nope, not all of it. Lin is a quality point guard whose play has sparked a 5 game win streak from a team that was going no where. While it's two superstar players were out with injury. In the biggest media market in the world. And Lin came out of nowhere to do this, after being cut by two teams. He'd be a story right now whatever his ethnicity.

And then there's the fact that he's Asian.

Mayweather needs to get back to doing what he does best - making up lame excuses not to fight Pacquiao.

Like the redefinition of steps and double dribble? Travelling is any pump fake, but cruise on in from the head of the key. Go ahead and palm the ball if it helps your crossover.

Lin is a very smart player. While sitting on the bench and watching, he figured out that most NBA players (who are mostly black, Floyd) are NOT interested in playing defense except for the occasional shot blocker whose rejections will end up on the ESPN highlights.

Once he was in the game, Lin knew that all he had to do was wait for the other team's big guy to be out of position and he could drive to the basket or fake the drive and pull up for the jump shot.

The utter morons who are not playing defense, but only waiting for their chance to score, have failed to notice this as have their genius coaches.

A decent college team that plays tough defense could probably stop Lin, but the lazy primadonnas in the NBA can't.
