Please excuse my ignorance. What is an Arkansas Traveler?
It is a variety of heat tolerant heirloom tomato - has slight pinkish color.
Thank goodness, we received 3.25 inches of rain last night. It is much appreciated. I need to check my beet and red onions, if they survived the rain. In Georgetown, where we were last evening it thundered, blew and rained gang busters. If it did that here, I may have to replant. Hope not.
Call your county agriculture extension office if you have one or your nearest university...

Wow! What a beautiful February Day! Sunny and 76° outside my home here in East Central Mississippi. A couple of the stores here have their Bonnie Plant displays up - selling tomatoes, onion starts, and other spring garden veggie plants.
My wife says the weather in Marshall, Tx is the same. She is off today and the owner of the house we are leasing came by to repair a leaking faucet in the kitchen. He told her that he owned a lot more acreage other than what he had fenced in for a back yard for the house. And that I could put my garden anywhere on the property even outside the fence if I wanted. Less grass for him to mow!

Your aquaponics sysem is very impressive. How much time a day, and what tasks must you do daily/weekly to keep it going..It looks as if it might be very labor intensive, and costly for the initial outlay.
Once it is “established” can you leave it unattended to go off for a few days or a week for a short vacation?
You should do an aquaponics thread/journal on FR..or maybe you already have on the weekly gardening thread. Thanx for sharing your impressive photo.

We feed the goldfish 2 times a day and add a gallon or few of water. Other than that it’s pretty much no maintenance.

Doesn’t have to be. You could start out with a bucket for the fish and something like a Rubbermaid storage bin for a grow bed.
We have another system set up that uses a $13 24”x36” cement mixing tray I got at Lowes, a 26 gallon fish aquarium, a $15 pump from EBay... some 25 cent goldfish, and some pvc scraps I made into a bell syphon.
That system is inside the house and is working quite well.
There’s no filter other than the water going through the grow bed and the water is amazingly clean.
I’ve got some kale, strawberry seedlings, pepper plants I salvaged from the garden, and a geranium growing in it.
Again, just feed the fish and keep the water topped off - and essentially no maintenance.

With an automatic fish feeder and some sort of mechanism to keep the water level up. I think probably so.
