How do I (we) counteract the success of this birth control wedge issue? (vanity)

Now that the left is successfully employing this wedge argument over insurance birth control mandates, what can we do on an individual basis to counteract it? I am suddenly seeing local boards and even my face book page being flooded with emotional posts by hysterical women who claim their uteruses (uteri?) are being attacked. They are being successfully distracted from the real issues and seem quite anxious to throw their vote away for red herrings. They have been tricked and I am trying to figure out the best way to dodge their emotional arguments and enlighten them. Some (most) of my are much better at political debate than I am. Any helpful advice?

First, let me say that I’m one of the ladies in the Catholic Church who comes and gives the talk about Natural Family Planning to RCIA classes and to anyone else who shows an interest. I am a firm believer and practitioner of what I believe. So, that is where I am coming from.

That said, what we “should” do is drop the subject from every angle EXCEPT the one involving the taxpayer and religion.

No more jokes about aspirin from rich men. No more tone-deaf panels of mostly-men.

If you want to talk about how this is a tax payers issue or a religious issue, fine. Everyone is entitled to do that and everyone should.

What we should stop doing: We don’t have to make fun of the issue, we don’t have to condemn anyone, we don’t have to make jokes. As stupid and harmless as the “jokes” and comments seem, birth control is a serious issue. Treat it as such. Off-the-cuff remarks are insensitive. Don’t make them.

We can stick to the facts, not get sucked into the morass, and stay out of the trap the media would like us to fall into.

I can tell you all day about why artificial birth control is a terrible idea, but if people don’t want to hear it, they won’t. Yelling and telling jokes does not make it better.They make it worse.

All I am left with is being able to tell you, in a few words, why I, as a taxpayer, should not pay for someone else’s decisions. Stick with that. It is simple and makes sense.

Some people want to “make points” and feel superior in the moment. Nothing will stop them from saying things that they want to pass off as “funny” or as a “joke”. I can tell you as someone who has done pro-life counseling, that it is anything but funny to the vast majority of women.

If we want to change minds about this subject, we should do so prayerfully and with a tender heart. If we want to “make a point” and feel like we’ve gotten one over, to feel morally superior while losing the war, rage on and continue on doing what we’re are doing.

It hasn’t been working, but why let failure stand in our way of feeling superior?

Too many on our side want to tell the liberals that it isn’t all about “feelings”, but cannot control their own feelings in a way that allows us to make progress.

Pitiful.

Universal firearm insurance LOL

Yeah, more ammo (whoops, pun) for our side. If the priests have to pay for your birth control, then you should have to pony up for poor people who want guns!! At least that IS an enumerated right!!!!

It’s perfect. It’s the right of every American to bear arms. But everyone buys their own. No one has it paid for out of their insurance or gets it free from the government... It makes a great argument.

Of course, their uteri are under attack. They’re right! How would you react if the Government tried to force your employer to purchase a management plan that allowed your doctor to disable a major bodily organ system? What’s the function of the uterus? The uterus serves as a proper, healthy environment for the development of babies in their embryonic and fetal stages.

Abortifacient “contraceptives” work by making that environment so hostile that to the babies that they die, effectively disabling the uterus. If the government compelled every doctor to give out free pills that disabled the lung, the liver, the kidney, or any other organ, then we’d protest. For some reason, our society considers this particular disability fashionable, just as the medieval Chinese considered foot-binding fashionable for girls.

And given that the full range of procedures will be offered without cost to the patient, what then keeps unscrupulous doctors from coercing, deceiving, or duping unsuspecting women to take this disabling drug without their full knowledge, understanding of its effects, and express consent? Remember folks, doctors use numerous words that most of us don’t hear often. How many Americans outside the medical fields understand well medical terminology?

Given that Big Government soon will control effectively the alleged health insurance market (which won’t provide much in the way of health or insurance), what more will keep federal bureaucrats with a hideous eugenic agenda from quietly manipulating the system to manage your usage of your own uterus to procreate children? The Government does that in the People’s Republic of China.

I know that some doctors already nudge women into disabling their own uteri. This activity will become far more commonplace in the coming years.

That is good news.

When my wife was suffering from migraines a few years ago, they thought that part of it was hormonal and recommended a beta blocker and BCPs.

The beta blocker was $4 per month or $10 for 90 days without insurance. The BCPs were $60 per month with no generic equivalent and our insurance would not cover it even though it was prescribed for a medical condition.

I’ll have to go to the WalMart site and see what they have added.
