“This was just shared tonight on Sarah Palins facebook. I had not ever seen it before so it was something I thought would be alright to share here. I don’t understand why people are getting so upset and rude. I guess this maybe why she has not come right out to say, I endorse Newt because of the hate that she will receive. On her facebook page, people say to her, if you don’t back Rick or Mitt, I will hate you. Newt supporters seem to be more respectful there while asking for her to help him against the media. The haters must have her in a dilemma. God Bless that lady.”
Part of being a leader is making enemies. Lots and lots of enemies, even among “friends”. If she doesn’t have the balls to deal with it, she ought to stop jerking us around and get out of the way. I know that’s a pretty crude way to put it, but it is what it is.
But, you know, I could simply be bigoted and frustrated here with the way this whole nomination process has gone. I’ve been disappointed so many times with so many “conservatives” that I might just be seeing it everywhere I go at this point.
The sooner this nomination process is over, the sooner I can have some mental sanity.
As a weathered FR veteran reader of Romney supporters' tone, for lack of better word, I figure it's to be expected from them. They must easily hold the record for being of the mindset that immediately reverts to "You hate ..." (and all appropriate variations thereof) such-and-such or whatever, Mormonism or Romney or Romney supporters. They could conceive no other possibility than "hate" as the driving force of the opposition.
I figure about half of Santorum supporters are closet-Romney supporters, which goes a long way to explaining any similar tone in Santorum backers' posts.
Do Romney's supporters "hate"? I don't know. I do know that desperation sounds a lot different, and will stoop a lot lower, than passion.
I'm a Newt supporter eyes wide open to his many flaws, but willing to roll the dice on him being the best bet of anybody in the race to beat Obama and then cut taxes and government drastically to start getting things moving toward liberty and prosperity. Moralizing is NOT what will set our nation right; CUTTING ITS GOVERNMENT WILL.
