OK, I just did this so I can confirm it... with a smart phone get a WIMO content reader... point it at the right side of a new dollar bill. Once it finds the embedded code you will be treated to an Obama re-election commercial. WTF... is this old news I missed or something? When did we start advertising on the money in the first place, and how is this legal?

It’s not the money you nincompoop. If true, the software reads something that already exists and links you to a website.
You could program the software to recognize your own name and link it to anything you want.

OK more info... the dollar I used was a 2006 so obviously not embedded in the dollar... the Obama people paid the makers of the WIMO app (I am using a droid) to play that video when it recognizes a $1.00 bill.

This doesn’t have anything to do with the dollar bill or the US Treasury. WiMO just maps an image to some video. Some clown mapped the images on the dollar bill to an Obama campaign video - run the WiMO client on your Android phone, aim the camera at a dollar bill, and the video plays. It only matters in the WiMO client’s little world - no big deal.

Some ingenious “programmer” thought-up a way to give Barry a free ad, that’s all. Pretty slick, actually.

I don’t have a smart phone but if I hold the dollar bill up to my ear I can still hear it. I have two magic quarters. My uncle gave them to me when I was a kid. When you stick them in your ears, the sound of everything changes.
