You really do not kick the ball to a teammate, you move it backwards with your feet on legs to the rear of the ruck, where the scrum half grabs the ball and passes out to a teammate. This starts a new phase of the attack. You have to enter a ruck from your side, or else it is a penalty. You cannot move the ball with your hands in the ruck or it a penalty to the other team.

Everyone who has ever been in the Army or Marine Corps knows what a “ruck” is, and those aren’t the definition.

n. short for rucksack - a big a$$ heavy backpack that holds a ton of gear.

v. short for road march conducted while carrying a rucksack - a long a$$ road march while carrying a fully loaded big a$$ ruck on your back going over miles and miles of hills.

Sentence: Which *%@(#^&% genius thought it was a good idea to make us ruck in the freezing rain with our rucks filled with 80 lbs. of gear and ammo, but leaving our snivel gear in the barracks.

The sheeple, the lemmings, the ruck
Chose Obama, and now we are stuck
The left loves his color
The right finds him duller
Than dishwater; plus, he’s a shmuck
