Since the Oscar telecast is so long and boring...
we are going to shake things up--
Geepers, how...
are you going to do that?
By adjusting the Wayback Machine...
into a Wayforward Machine--
A Wayforward Machine? How...
will it work?
Watch...
and learn, Sherman!
yet? As our announcer, let me say...
Leslie, if you will shut up, we shall get there!
Okay, okay, Orson! Just glad I got somewhere to go...
now that I am all dress up--
Yes, Fellow Freepers...

And to get right to it, y'all give it up for your host Billy...
Crystal!

we have a substitute--
A big hand for...
the one and only Doctor--
Zoidddddddddddddddddddddddddddd...
berg!
The nominees for Best Actor are Demian Bichir...
for immigrant tree climbing in A Better Life.
Georgeous George Clooney...
for flip-flopping in The Descendants.
Jean Dujardin...
for going black, white and mute in The Artist.
Gary Oldman...
going old school British in Tinker Tailor Soldier Drag Queen Spy.
Brad Pitt...
for going boring talking economics in Moneyball.
And lastly, our old pal Bendy...
for telling the truth in his starring role in the epic 6 hour cut of All My Free Republic Postings in the 2012 NFL Live Thread: The Friggin' Movie!.
And the Oscar...
goes to--
Bender! Bender...
BENDER!!!!!
They like me! They really...

Hummm...
It seems we momentarily lost our satellite feed, but it appears...
The Better Life crowd is not happy that Demian Bichir lost.
Nor are the fans of Brad Pitts'...
Moneyball
Or are British soccer hooligans...
for Gary Oldman--
Those fans that came with The Artist actor Jean Dujardin...
are not looking pleased either!
Yet all of George Clooney's past girlfriends...
are very pleased he lost.
Meanwhile...
elsewhere--
Gadzooks! I love it when a plan...
and booze comes together!
Oh, Bendy! I am so glad someone from the real world...
finally won!
Way to go, Bender, old sport! With my Oscar track record...
next year I'm going the blackmail route myself--
Peter, how can you condone...
Bender's cheating to win an Oscar?
Cheating my arse, George! Bender won fair and square and take this...
for not believing it!
They decided to postpone the Daytona 500 so I put in my Ben-Hur DVD. I hope the commie libs all have fun at their awards show tonight and may they all receive a giant “swag” bag full of carbon credit certificates.
Good Grief! You sure invested a lot of time on this. I would rather have a prostate exam than watch the Academy Awards.
I used to live in a city where a lot of Hollywood and people in the music industry resided. I find Hollywood “types”to be very vapid except those in the music industry.
Oscar ping to some FRiends who may be interested...
ping
Execept for Jay Leno. He was always very fun to be with

What nominated films this year do you object to?
I’m watching an old episode of Colombo. Much more entertaining.
Here we are at the Chapter 11 Theater (Kodak).
First Oscar, Cinematopography goes to a guy that needs a haircut.
Hugo
Go Hugo!!!
The Oscars are mostly for technicians. Only four of the awards go to actors.
Nice job with the graphics. Funny!!
As to the awards... who cares? I’d rather spend the time FReeping and getting some education.
Billy Crystal pretty much summed it up in the opening. There’s nothing in these depressed economic times better than watching millionaires hand little gold statues to other millionaires.
Part of the purpose of the Oscar ceremony is to educate the public about the craft of filmmaking.
Some Middleman is playing.
Watching these libtards is an education.
This is one of the best comedys of the year.
The first thing that came to my mind when I heard the Oscars was tonight was, who gives a s@&t.
You do know that Oscars are mostly for technical people right? Only four of the awards go to actors.
Thanks for the ping...
Why would Marty name a kid's flick...
for me?
Shut your French poet, playwright, novelist, essayist, visual artist, statesman, human rights activist mouth up...
Victor! It is a friggin' movie!!!!

Hot chicks! Lame gig!
Billy’s opening song was funny, but the sound guys had the music too loud...could not hear all the words he was singing.
Here is my bit of trivial education. The Oscar statue figure is standing on a film reel if you ever get to see one in person. From the horizontal view it just looks like a circular stand which is how it is most often seen.
Did you catch Jlo’s nipple show? She must need publicity.
I'll go with the "Walking Dead" being its a better show and waaaaaay more intelligent programming
I had the same problem. Glad to learn it wasn't my TV...
Does anyone know who the flamingly gay "Expedia" guy was on the Red Carpet show before the Oscars show started? Ugh, hubby was getting physically sick listening to the guy. It's so disgusting that Hollyweird celebrates these no-talent degenerates.
Robin Roberts was more masculine than the Expedia guy, btw.
I saw a lot of the movies. I liked The Help & Warhorse, but loved Moneyball. ArtIst was charming, but not the best IMO.
In further pursuit of knowledge I went to the official Academy website and found this description.
Design: A knight holding a crusaders sword, standing on a reel of film. The film reel features five spokes, signifying the five original branches of the Academy (actors, directors, producers, technicians and writers).
A Crusder’s sword? I wonder if a certain group are offended?
I wonder if the South Park guys wore J Lo’s dress this time as well.
and an atomic bomb for Iran--
That film was a shoe in-—best reviewed film of the year.
Bravo! Much more entertaining than the Oscars have been in years.
I think so too.
Smokin’ some really good stuff, ain’t cha :)
George Clooney as a Best Actor nominee? Really? He’s average at best.
Come on,now.
Think I remember in previous posts you work/have worked in the film industry. I have a question...
Don’t they have a technician(s) watching the actual TV broadcast in real time as the rest of the public? I expected the music accompanying Billy’s song to be adjusted lower after the first 15 seconds, but it never happened. Don’t they have someone watching a regular TV (what the public sees and hears) so they can make the necessary adjustments quickly?
OK, admit there was a sound balance problem that I can't figure out.
Just observing the people in the audience is a hoot.
I would love to be one of them.
That would mean I have money.
I’ve never worked in the industry. I’ve never even been to California. I assume the director and engineers are in charge of how its mixed. Must have been a botch job based on comments.
They are supposed to...
but as they say in Iran: "Shiite Happens!"
That...
can be arranged!
Same here, FRiend. ;-)
My stepson lives about 2-3 miles from the Kodak Theater, where this Oscar celebration is taking place. He works in "the industry", but as a writer for television.
Holy montgomery glands batman I missed it
So far what I notice is the majority of the men are homosexual and the rest of the nominees and winners seem to be very liberal.
Thanks for the replies. Just was curious how something so important as the opening number could get botched.
